The Center Hotel Grand Rapids Airport

Room had strong smell of Marijuana which both my wife and I hate seemed to be coming from outside but made for a very unpleasant experience at the hotel

The carpet is stained old, the drain in restroom made noises, the sink water didn’t drain, the walls are stained cracked need new remodel. Seems maintenance just paints over things instead of fixing.

Convenient. The suite was exceptional for the price.

Basically a motel with fancier wall paper. Room was 2 room with the divider door off . It wasn’t a terrible place but I mean are room had a 12x12 square randomly cut out the wall and not fixed ..

Other than that, it was such a disappointing stay. Our original room did not have power for half of the outlets, so no lights, television, or charging ports. The furniture was really worn—scratches and chips on the wood surfaces and a chair that was missing half its leather. We were moved to a different room, which was also pretty worn out, and also had a chair that would flake fake leather on you and snag your clothes (I ruined my favorite sweater, which is the only reason I am taking the time to write this). The real bummer was that our kids couldn’t use the pool because there was a large group of rowdy, unsupervised kids in there the entire time. If we had other options, we would have just left. It is a nice spot, central to many things, and you can tell that parts have been renovated—just not the parts we stayed in. I am guessing things improve with time, but we won’t be back.

Pool was cold!!!!

The room was not as clean as I expected and was quite run down. The bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. The staff was sparse, the restaurant and bar were closed. The information I read prior to booking said breakfast was included and said nothing about the hotel being in the middle of a renovation. We were very disappointed. Expedia needs to do a better job with descriptions of their postings. I talked with the manager and cancelled our next reservation but he told me, because I booked through a 3rd party (Expedia), that I would still be charged. I won't be using Expedia again. We didn't use the airport shuttle but we saw others using it.

I stayed for one night. Woke up to the room next door yelling and partying at 2:30 in the morning on a Wed. That finally calmed down and I could hear people in the parking lot outside being loud as well. Security needs to run much tighter moving forward to ever consider staying again.

This is the worst hotel stay i have ever had. The material

If you wanna get good sleep and you don’t care what this place looks like then you will be satisfied. Yes, I spent a lower rate for this stay compared to other hotels in the area that honestly were overcharging for the area; Grand Rapids acts like they are LA with their overpricing on everything. I did get good sleep. However, I felt like I was staying in a fancy warehouse. The furnishings were lacking. It needs a paint job and to the owner, if you just put in a couple of fake trees in the lobby, turn on the lights where the breakfast area is and put some music on, you could probably charge your customers more . Not only that, but It was very hard to find this place. There’s only one sad sign by the main road. Overall, I would not stay here again because I appreciate cozy stays and this didn’t feel that way.

This is a very tired property. It’s safe and relatively clean, but it’s one of those places where the photos don’t really match the reality. Unlike others, I saw no evidence of renovations underway. I think this is the way it is.

I was two hours away from this hotel and needed somewhere to sleep, and Expedia put it there and did not give me a refund after I did not stay

The first morning we were there, several guests were yelling at the staff about issues they had all weekend long. As a group of 4 women we were put on the 4th floor right by the exit door. We didn’t feel safe and ended up leaving before our reservation was up. The hotel won’t give us any money back either. Terrible!!!! Don’t ever stay here!!! Cops told us they have had to come to this hotel several times.

Room was clean and linen was on point …

Stayed here last year for a trip and place was great family had a great time just one complaint about a microwave and bam there was one in the room this year THANK YOU!! There was an issue with some guests and staff. I was outside my pool view room with 2 friends (40 year old grown men) hanging out minding our business having a quiet conversation, pool was closed and gate was shut for pool we were in the open area around the pool figured was like my balcony we were right outside my door NOT running around. Mean while there were about 12 oh id say 14-18 year old kids definatly NOT supervised by any adult running around the balcony screaming and yelling up and down the stairs. A lady came out went right to me and my 2 friends and with a bad disposition told us WE HAD TO LEAVE POOL WAS CLOSED!!!! NOT ONCE did she even look up and say anything to the 12 hood rats running a muck yelling and screaming, I politely told her we were going to finish our drinks and head in. With in 45 seconds a send employee and older man came out just as mad yelling at me and my friends to leave or "we gonna have a problem" and threated to call the cops and kick me and my family out. Again NOT ONE WORD said to the kids running all over the place (guessing because they either knew them or because of their skin color) I told the man what about them you havent said a word to them. He then quietly went to them and had a "talk" dident yell and scream at them like he did the 3 guys minding their own business
