Hyatt Place Greenville/Haywood

Definitely the worst Hyatt we have ever stayed in and probably the last.

Lots of options at breakfast! Eat all you can, fruit, lots of choices and they refilled the bowls. A variety of selections, and very nice display. Great price for the amount of beds in the room, gave us free water and the lady at the front desk was professionally dressed and very polite. She also gave us more blankets when she saw we were traveling as a family. Maybe the carpets could have been cleaner in the hallways but even I wouldn’t bring the rating down because of that.

The whole lobby was under construction. The elevators were disgusting. The biggest issue was the puddle of water that kept showing up on our room floor…something was leaking. Gross

The rooms and were wonderful and clean. Housekeeping was friendly and was actually helping operate the elevator, which was broken when the person at front desk checked us into the fourth floor with two small children at 8 pm. The entire lobby is under construction to the point that it should definitely be closed because nothing is accessible or operational. The lobby has construction mats throughout, nowhere to eat breakfast, inedible breakfast food is in a conference room but you have to take it back to your room. The elevator was not working properly and we were up a few flights of stairs with two small children. Definitely not ADA compliant. We were not notified in advance that the hotel was under construction, otherwise we would not have booked it. When we told the front desk as much, they said “well why’d you stay the night then?” when they could see we checked in late after traveling all evening with small children. We ended up cutting our stay short by a day. Even without construction, I would not come back simply due to the fact that we were questioned about why we wanted to leave while holding a 10 month old and 4 year old in an active construction area. Management and owners clearly have no regard for staff or guests based on these conditions.

The hotel was under heavy construction at the time of my stay. I had to use a back door to enter the building and there were sheets of plastic, electrical tools, and ladders all over the place. The room was clean, but public areas were not. There was a spill in the elevator that stayed there through the duration of my stay. The pictures are inaccurate, the breakfast is being served in a conference room, the lobby seems to be in a former dining room.

The beds were comfortable. Downstairs lobby was under renovation and there was only one "operable" elevator in the building. When I was taking a shower that first night, I discovered mold/mildew on the shower curtain and was barely able to squeeze out any body wash from the mounted toiletries which were almost empty and needed to be replaced. In addition, the privacy window blind in my room had a large slash across it. When I asked to speak to a manager 3 different times re my concerns, I was told D'Angelo had stepped out and wasn't available. Front desk staff wrote down my number but D'Angelo never called me. To add insult to injury, I was charged a $100 "pet cleaning fee" for my 6.5 lb chihuahua that did not bark nor cause any damage to the room/property. Had I been dishonest and stated that my chi was a "service dog", this excessive pet fee would have been waived :(. The entire experience left me feeling deflated and very disappointed. The lack of care and customer service was the biggest let-down of all.

I arrived at a construction project. Somewhere hidden in there was a makeshift front desk. All lounge areas closed. Gym closed. Room was clean. Slowest elevator I’ve ever seen. Breakfast was disappointing and served in a conference room.

The room was clean and comfortable. The building was under construction, some amenities were unavailable.

Everything good yall just remodeling

location of our room the motel was under remodel construction. I believe we should have been informed or given a comp prior to booking. everything was covered in sheet rock dust. the rooms were dirty as well as floors in hallways (spilled liquids , sticky for 2 days) Trash cans are the elevator were full the entire 3 day stay.. house keeping had to see this. they were in the halls being very loud, slamming doors, laughing and talking loud. on their phones often not doing anything.

I was grateful to have a place to stay for the night but they were in the middle of extensive renovations. Not safe (there was construction equipment out and about, trip hazards, etc), not quiet, and only one elevator that was barely working for the whole building. They should close the hotel for that level of work to be done.

Showed up after a really bad day of travel, not only was the hotel in shambles and under construction, but they were out of rooms and did not have a room for us. They did let us walk to the Hilton next-door and they got a room for us. What I didn’t like was all of that stuff happened and was never notified until we got there to get our room

Room was very large and comfortable While I fully understand the hotel is being renovated, I found it to be out of control with multiple aspects and areas of the hotel all 1/2 finished making it very dirty and inconvenient for guests. Why not finish a section before starting another??? Electrical cords lying across the hallways uncovered are trip hazards and can't roll your suitcase. Dust, dirt, construction materials everywhere. Construction workers in and out of guest breakfast area taking plates of food and coffee meant for guests??? The elevators are completely unacceptable. One never was operational our entire stay. The other kept getting stuck between floors on multiple days necessitating guests to climb and descend 6 floors!! Every time guests stepped in it with us, we all commented to each other and were scared of getting stuck! Get your elevators fixed!! Staff just sitting at a banquet table upon entrance could have been more professional in light of construction, but biggest issue was having to talk with them while they are sitting there eating ice cream/food directly in front of guests??? Overall, room was great, rest of hotel needs an overhaul on professionalism in all aspects and not let a renovation be an excuse.
