Hotel Gurnee

Location was good for the price, had good amenities. Restaurant and bar was closed each day and breakfast didn’t have anyone to insure missing food items were restocked, plus o had hoped for such a nice large hotel it would’ve had meat protein options. One HUGE red flag, they charged unexpected extra fee for booking online, claiming the website forgot to charge local taxes on the overall price customers paid.

Very Small continental breakfast. Bathroom in room was older. They put fresh paint in room. Lots of noise in room next to us. Sounded like laundry machines.

The bathroom had a used bar of soap in it that had hair on it and that was disgusting. All the finishes in the room were beaten up, like scratched and dented. There was construction going on in the room directly next to us - I have no idea why they would put us in a room where there was construction/pounding going on in the next room over; all I wanted to do was sleep in while I was there and I couldn't. Housekeeping was loud, there was a lot of running up and down the halls, the key to our room worked when it felt like it, so sometimes we would be outside the room for a few minutes just trying to get in. This was for my son's birthday weekend too, so I felt embarrassed as a parent that I chose this place to stay. We didn't even bother checking out the pool because of all of this. Beds & pillows were comfortable, that's about all that was good with this hotel.

The hotel has changed names so the sign no longer says Hotel Gurnee. This made it a bit of guess work to ensure we were at the right hotel. It is now Ten Hotel and Conference Center. This is as of August 2026.

Staff said I don’t know when asked questions, that they don’t normally work this shift.

There was a problem with checking in with the third suite, and because it was late Hotel needed an amazing job to upgrade me to a better and was very apologetic for the area being booked out and being Need for the swimming. Please check the times for the breakfast because the times have changed over the past couple years but other than that it is an amazing hotel to stay at.

Customer service

The staff was very attentive to our needs. The food was outstanding, best French Toast was the best and the fresh fruit completed the meal, Nothing everything exceeded my expectations.

Across the street from amazing restaurants & Gurnee mills. Six flags is also down the road. Breakfast is basic & sometimes not filled at the end of the timeframe. Both days I went close to end & minimal was offered. Stayed her two different times & the name is different on the building & sign. Kind of confusing with hotel & leasing to rent.

They've been renovating. But havent gotten to the rooms yet. Rooms need updating. Staff wasnt very attentive/prompt.

We decided to stay an extra night in Gurnee and switched over to this hotel from LaQuinta which was a terrible experience. This hotel is a treasure. Clean, beautiful lobby with cute canaries and a pretty good breakfast. We didn't eat at the restaurants but the choices looked great and the restaurants were so cute! The room need some updates in the bathroom especially but they are in the process of a renovation so I think that's all on the way. We were just happy for the clean room, working phone, wifi and actual entertainment choices on the tv!!

The property is currently being updated, but based on the changes I’ve seen every time I’ve visited, I feel like this property will definitely be the best in the area by far. Im excited to see what the finished remodel will look like.
