This is one of our favorite places to stay. The staff are wonderfully warm. They remember us from one visit to the next & have been empathic and flexible about responding to our needs. They create a welcoming atmosphere. The house is historic & lovely and the land is spacious and charming, with lots of birds. Always a different & yummy treat at breakfast.

I have never been a fan of bed and breakfast places but this place can make you a believer! Location, location, location; can easily walk to historic district. The best feature of this Inn is the gourmet breakfast; we got a different delicious breakfast every day. This historic house is a well maintained beauty that you’ll love!

Great atmosphere in the stately manor. Breakfast was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend!

This is a wonderful property, very well maintained, super peaceful and comfortable, lovely staff and breakfast. It's a little far from Shenandoah NP, which is what we were there for, but the drive is pleasant. Be prepared that places to eat around in the town are limited.

Breakfast was delicious. Furnishings in bedroom and sitting room were just what we were looking for - beautifully tasteful. Bed so comfortable. Staff welcoming & helpful. We couldn’t have asked for more. No complaints at all.

This was my first bed-and-breakfast experience, and it went very well! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were super comfortable and private. The breakfast offered in the morning was very delicious and plentiful! It is a fixed menu, but of course you can know if you have allergen or dietary restrictions and it can be adjusted. Loved my experience!

We will be back.

Quaint B&B in an historic property. Very close to downtown (walkable) with loads of great food and beverage options.

The staff were fantastic. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. They worked with our dietary restrictions. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

It was beautifully decorated and had super comfortable beds! My daughter has Celiac and the breakfast they made her was delicious and made her feel so special.

Nice location to Downtown Harrisonburg and JMU

Really pleasant staff. Great proximity to town and to the fly fishing school. Wonderful. Home cooked breakfast. It’s an historic property with period furnishings so don’t expect modern. We enjoyed our stay. Parking, breakfast and WIFi included

We chose Friendly City as a stopover driving from Boston to Atlanta and could not have been more delighted. The innkeeper was lovely, the room was very comfortable with everything you might need from hairdryer to iron and ironing board. Fresh chocolate chip cookies on arrival, great dining recommendations, and a lovely historic Inn to learn about. As we were leaving early in the morning and would not be able to stay for breakfast the Innkeeper offered to have breakfast to go for us, and it was delicious! The most amazing thing was that my daughter inadvertantly left a treasured stuffed animal. The Innkeeper offered to ship it to our destination which stopped the tears and made one girl very very happy. We highly recommend the Inn!

Loved the historic house and breakfast was wonderful. I am on a restricted diet and they were very accommodating. The light in the bathroom was so dim we could hardly see. Also, the bed felt a little like we were sleeping with our heads downhill.

Our first time staying in a B&B - it was very nice, homey. Not much you can do, but the noise from other guests. It’s an older home, creaky floors, thin walls/doors. I think people just forget where they are. Nevertheless, we were comfortable.

Clean, comfortable, and friendly, as the name states.

Clean, bright, comfortable, friendly staff, nice garden/outside areas. Very nice B&B.
