Super 8 by Wyndham Hattiesburg South

The room had been booked based on other reviews that mentioned it was a decent hotel. We had booked the last room and had a hard time finding availability in the area. It must have been a “move-in” weekend for USM! The bathtub was nasty! It was a bit slimy feeling from not being cleaned. The towels were yellowed and appeared they had not been washed. The entire area wreaked of weed also. Definitely would not waste my money on this!

We reserved 2 rooms and we can say the beds were quite comfortable and the rooms adequately clean. But there were many small issues that were irritating. Our rooms were code to an outside door but our keys would not work on that lock. One room had two paper but no ice bucket. The other room had no cups nor ice icke t. When we inquired at the desk they said they had no ice buckets . One room was worse than the other. It had both an arm chair and a bedspread wig holes in them. The refrigerator had an irritating clacking sound that never stopped. The ceiling had exposed wires hanging down where a light must have been at one time, and the lighting in the bathroom was so dim it was hard to see to shave.

Rooms were clean. What staff I saw were friendly. There could have been more parking but given the location there was no room for more.

The room smelled like marijuana and cigarettes so bad our eyes burned. Breakfast choices were very slim. We skipped out and went somewhere to eat. Will find somewhere else to stay on our way back through.

Zero hot water. Really makes for a miserable shower. The host had notified the owner. No offer of a partial refund or a full refund for the complete lack of a useful facility. The host was super nice, the room was clean (hint of smoke though) no working laundry equipment. The continental breakfast was adequate, could have been much better, the coffee was excellent! Without consideration from management I will not being staying here again and can’t recommend anyone else staying. If a refund had been offered I would have given a much better review but if they don’t care about their business anymore than that then do not deserve a decent review. My review is completely honest.

Not so much- refrigerator made a ticking noise like a clock, air conditioner was loud and hard to get a comfortable temperature, just before we left the bathroom vent started squealing when turned on, furniture and fixtures showing wear and tear, breakfast offerings were mediocre. The TV was small and the picture wasn't very sharp. Overall- for this area, at this price, it was hard to complain too much. Not a lot of noise from other guests on the busiest street on a Friday night in a college town- somewhat rare. We both slept reasonably well. The shampoo, soap and conditioner were excellent as was the water temperature and pressure.

Wasn't the cleanest hotel ever, outside the room. The rooms was good and the part of the building I stayed in was nice and quiet.

The front desk employees was polite but getting into the room was a problem. The access was broken, I had to change the room because it was nasty. The room I changed to was nasty and I had to use towels to lay on cause the sheets looked stained. I’m retired military and I felt better in a tent outside. I requested for a refund that night but was told it couldn’t be done until the manager came in that morning. So I stayed until early that morning until I just couldn’t take no more but left a message requesting refund. Never heard from management. Also no soap except shower and 2 towels. Un acceptable. Listed above. Just about everything!!!!!!!!!!!
