Ye Old English Inn

Very clean hotel! Room was small but it was all we needed. Hotel staff very nice and knew the History of the hotel and town. We would definitely stay here again!

Room was clean and bed was pretty comfortable but my husband wasn't happy with the cooling system, he complained how hot it was in the room and the restaurant food was meh... my fish was so greasy, I barely ate it and my husband salad was awful, he couldn't even chew the lettuce..

The manager, John, what a super nice guy! It's literally like staying with friends. The room was comfortable and clean. Downing Street Pub is fantastic and the manager there is awesome too. The hotel is quiet and the neighborhood is relaxing and fun! We are from Springfield, MO area, so spending a weekend in Branson was like meh for us BUT this Inn, the staff, and the neighborhood literally made the BEST weekend. We will for sure be returning. Thank you!!

This place is so cute. It’s older obviously and part of the charm. Excellent restaurant there and it’s located in an area with little coffee shops and a few shops to look at. Very convenient location to Branson and Thunder Ridge Arena. The rooms are really small, but quiet and the rooms are each named a location. I also liked that they have homemade cinnamon rolls in the morning :-)

Absolutely one of the best places I have stayed. No negatives. I loved the bed, the restaurant, the entire experience was terrific. John is the man. Helpful as he can be. We will definitely stay again!!!

Pros: John at the front desk. We only saw him on first day, and missed his service and friendliness the next two days. Female at the desk was nice but not very service oriented. (Last part is a con) Beds are comfy. Most towels were new and clean, some were old and stained.They .were white. Air was very adequate and cool. Water had great pressure and always warm enough. Clean rooms (also see con) Restaurant was very busy but service and food excellent. no reservation, first come first served. Coffee was excellent. Cons: Extra blanket on bed-yuk!! I will not describe due to the yuk. Female front desk did bring clean one when I told her but never addressed the yuk one. Doors, to hall and adjoining room are very thin, gape, and allow noises, mainly from adjoining room. Extra towels to cover bottom gap, TV and white noise were needed!! Not much to do on the street. One gift shop was open and cute (pro)-must visit. Stairs only, not an issue for us but might be for some. Halls could use new/clean carpet. Breakfast was hostesses cakes and fruit. RecommendHollister Coffee Shop! Bottled water sometimes. Community fridge. When restaurant is busy, parking sucks. Usually not many spaces until after 8. Tub with shower instead of walk in shower, might be an issue for some. Good adventure, probably won’t return.

Staff is exceptional, cordial, professional and attentive! We felt welcomed and cared for! We loved the Inn and the restaurant! If you go to bed before 10:00 pm this Inn may not be for you. The restaurant and pub is downstairs and very loud until it closes. It was not a problem for us as we just turned the television louder. There is definitely a lot of history in this Inn and pub/restaurant. BTW, the restaurant food is very good!

We wanted to stay close to the venue we were attending, so I chose Hollister. The Ye’ Old English Inn. It’s very old (1921) and full of history! The room was very small and the bathroom even smaller! I loved everything about it! The staff was amazing, the manager helped me carry my bags up the stairs and was beyond helpful and nice. The onsite restaurant was really good and must be the place to be as it was very busy! 100% would stay again!

Such a charming hotel. Makes you feel like you are on a European vacation. Staff wonderful. Accommodations clean and comfortable.

This may be my most favorite hotel/inn in the country. I have been blessed to travel a lot and this inn is so unique. John is the best of the best when it comes to making you truly feel "at home". He is kind, engaging, and helpful. He helped with our luggage and noticed one of our group was chilly - so he got her a small heater. The facility is like no other. GORGEOUS! Rich colors, beautiful wood and stone work, and an incredible history! Rooms are smaller but for 1 or 2 in a room, "just right". Clean! Nice sitting areas and little nooks! I stayed here in 2025 and never thought I could get all the way back to this part of the country.... then a trip developed and we were soooo close! YES, I got to come back. Food is good. Cigar bar down the street is unique. Train station and history of the area is interesting. STAY HERE!! Sweet stay! Beautiful! Good people!! Hope we can get back again!
