Hollywood Hills Hotel

The property is very quirky. It is poorly marked, and when I finally found the entrance, I saw a notice from the city about a building code violation. The grounds are haphazard - fenced into a steep hillside, outdoor stairways with no ramps to wheel luggage, all digital. The views and room comfort = amazing, but the place is so eccentric and difficult to access (poor signage; everything remote; parking also poorly marked) that it just doesn't work well as a hotel. An airb&b option maybe, but it is not a real hotel. difficult access, no lobby or amentities except the large restaurant Yamashiro. Again, famous for it's Asian style and hilltop views.

It was self check in. That’s it. Everything. The hotel was really dirty and smelled like bleach really bad. Couldn’t open the door to let the smell out because bugs would get in. The floors were dirty. The sink and shower are old and have a lot of wear and tear, there was flies inside the hotel. You can hear everything going on outside there was so much noise all night long. Worst hotel ever

Our room was big and impecable. It had a balcony with a great view to Hollywood, the location was perfect a few blocks from the Walk of Fame, restaurants and shops. It shares property with the Yamashiro restaurant which is a fantastic restaurant. The area is quiet and very pleasant. The personal was incredibly friendly and helped us when our travel plans changed so we were able to stay an extra night. TOP HIGHLIGHT: the bed, pillows and couch were heavenly comfy!

Absolutely love my spa room was clean. Property was quiet. It was a little bit hard to find it first, but I had an amazing view of the Hollywood sign in downtown LA from my balcony

The balcony was a nice amenity. I was totally unaware that the hotel was actually apartments style. I never saw a pool as advertised. No fresh linen or daily services.

The advertisements seem much more promising than the reality. The hotel was under construction & some of the building falling apart. The texting service was very responsive, but when we asked for more towels, we were told only the cleaning staff could bring them, the next day. The pool has no chairs or towels.

As far as the Hotel itself, it was relatively clean, just quite a bit outdated with lots of layers of paint on the windows and random paint patches on the walls. The bed was also very uncomfortable and felt like a very old thin mattress. Additionally, the outside was covered in cobwebs and could use a good daily walkaround of the property to maintain a bit better. Check in & Checkout were both very easy as far as just getting an electronic key sent to your phone. As a note, they do charge an early check in fee of $45 and Late check out fee of the same. Also, parking is $35 with for LA was very fair.

Proximity to Yamashiro restaurant and the views of Hollywood/LA are amazing! Plus the amount of space is awesome and love the mini kitchen.

The room has an amazing view of the city and mountains! Not super walkable if you have any issues with steep inclines. But seriously close to all kinds of things in LA. Music food and Hollywood walk of fame. You can see the observatory from the view out of the room! It’s beautiful at night.

I was only there for one night, but enjoyed my stay. I was pleasantly surprised , my room was upgraded and absolutely beautiful. Room was spotless and had everything you need. Hotel had a beautiful downtown view and was conveniently located to the Hollywood Bowl. I would definitely stay again when visiting the area.

I stayed 5 nights. Great location, $40 scam per night on parking. Despite the outside looking dated, the inside of the rooms are fairly modern. Cool pool right on the cliff, as deep as 12 feet, good for diving. FLAWS: 107 has bed bugs. I got bites on my back. There was lots of trash around the pool. Cigarettes, bottles, etc, looked months old and not kept up. Customer service sucked, nobody on site, nobody picks up phone. You have to text for response. I'll be disputing my stay because of the bed bug situation. DONT ACCEPT ROOM 107.
