The Hollywood Franklin Hotel near Universal Studios

The property was fun and whimsical. Definitely a boutique style hotel. The staff was super helpful and friendly! If you are used to large hotels like Hilton, Sheraton, Marriott, etc., this is not it. But it is still very nice. They had vallet services also which was nice. Great location. Short walk to Hollywood Blvd and the Hollywood walk of fame. It is also walking distance to fun restaraunts and cute shops. Clost to freeway access as well!!

You had to ask for cleaning service for a multi-day stay and I didn't ask for cleaning. However, the hotel staff was helpful and provided clean towels, toilet paper and other amenities whenever I requested them. The parking lot is valet only and charged a nightly rate. I am not sure whether it is common in LA but I thought it was a bit pricey as the parking lot is hotel's own property. Overall, I would give the hotel a 3.5 stars as its location is convenient to all the attractions and glamours of Hollywood. The hotel itself just needs a bit of updating.

Staff was very nice and helpful

Laundry room was stinky, floor was wet, dirty laundry was pilled up from the room’s bedding, I didn’t get to wash my laundry the washer had a smell and if you need to workout there was nothing in gym but a treadmill.

The hotel is in a very strategic location, close to the Walk of Fame (though the area feels a bit sketchy to walk around at night). The property looks nice, and the King room was beautiful, spacious, and mostly clean, except for a few minor stains. I specifically chose this room because it was advertised as "soundproof" on Booking.com. However, due to the very thin, older windows and the door facing the inner courtyard and pool, the room lacked proper insulation and outside noise was very noticeable. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk the following day, the response was unfortunately not very welcoming or helpful. I was told that in 25 years they had never heard of a soundproof room and that the description was Booking's responsibility. I expected a more constructive and polite approach to a legitimate guest inquiry, rather than having the issue dismissed.

Clean rooms and great staff.

Pool and property were extremely clean. Only PM staff (guy with the glasses) was super helpful as the other 2-3 times I came down in the AM to ask a question or get towels I was growled at like I wasnt the paying guest?

Decent hotel. If you have a car, i recommend staying in Burbank to save a few bucks. Still, this place had nice rooms with good air conditioning.

The room itself had an older Hollywood-style décor, which may appeal to some guests. The bedding was below the quality I expected, and the towels were thin and felt inexpensive. While the stay was acceptable overall, I don't feel the room quality matched my expectations.

Friendly staff and really close to the pantages theatre

Fabulous hotel. Very clean, great location, amazing decor, incredibly spacious room and helpful staff. Loved it! Nothing!

Property was OK for a quick stay. Located near some convenience stores but not too many restaurants. For the most part, it was clean bed was comfortable. The bathroom toilet was loud throughout the night. Also wasn’t sure why windows were open, but they were open and you were unable to close them. Have an attached diner for convenient.

I picked the suite room that was supposed to have a view of the Hollywood sign. We could not see it.

Great location

Loved the hotel. Huge bathroom. Not quite sure about the barn doors for the bathroom entrance. Not a lot of privacy when you have to use the toilet. Most comfortable bed. Slept like a rock the 3 nights we were there. Restaurant on property was always packed. House made bread and pastries yummm. Recommend the roasted chicken in caper sauce. Licked the plate clean. Valet driver was very friendly and helpful.

I always stay at the Hollywood Franklin anytime I'm in Los Angeles. I love how clean the rooms are, the staff and valet are always super friendly and accomodating, the diner downstairs is delicious and affordable with great portion sizes (the staff is amazing as well) and the hotel itself is gorgeous. It smells really nice and has amazing decor throughout. The pool was the perfect temperature and was really nice to relax in after a long travel day. The location is within walking distance to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as some great local restaurants and shops in Franklin Village. This was my 6th stay here, definitely not my last in the King Suite Hollywood Sign View, and it was perfect for celebrating my college graduation. Highly recommend!
