Columbia Gorge Hotel and Spa

One of the reasonable rates in the area and we knew it was historical so we knew it was older so we were afraid ot would be dated. We were pleasantly surprised to find modern amenities while still maintaining the history. We were greeted by an incredibly friendly staff. Wonderful bar and breakfast in the morning. We were upgraded to a river view and slept with the windows open listening to the on site waterfall and woke to a glorious gorge sunrise.

This place was incredible. It felt like stepping back in time. Wonderful veranda to have a late night dessert and drink and to visit again in the morning with coffee. The only downside was the restaurant food really was not very good. I would strongly suggest eating elsewhere.

Beautiful property and great location

Beautiful grounds, flowers, views. Very clean. Very very slow service in dining area. Friendly when present but very inattentive

For the cost, the accommodations, especially the building was not up to standards. There was dust on the shelves, debris on the carpet, and holes in our napkins. It took us over 60 minutes to receive our meal after we ordered. The food was very good but overall we were dust, especially because we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and wanted a special evening.

The drinks at the bar were not well-made. The lemon drop martini was made with bottle lemon juice and was very bad. The restaurant restaurant food was OK but not great but

I always appreciate older, classic properties, and the Columbia Gorge Hotel and Spa is a gem. Great, comfortable room, great food at Valentino's, and grounds that make you want to explore. The price was great, and we'll stay again the next time we're in town.

The history

Beautiful, old world elegance. It felt like we were in Europe. The setting is stunning, the flowers were gorgeous, breakfast overlooking the water was charming. I visited with my son, but I will return with a romantic partner.

This is a beautiful property overlooing the river. The staff was very helpful. We requested to change rooms away from the elevator. The request was honored. The dinner from the bar was good. We sat outside and it was lovely. We chose not to eat breakfast there because it was so expensive. There are places in Hood River which are reasonably priced, but not as beautiful. We really enjoyed the hotel and recommend it.

Only complaint was that they were rigid /cold about 11:00 am checkout …c’mon!?

The location and the outside of the property is beautiful, but the interior is just ok. The walls are thin, but I understand it’s an 100 year old property, so I understand.
