Location & great coffee. We were there for kiteboarding & not disappointed!! Lots of great places to eat & breweries!! Hood River is an awesome place !! Trains do go by often but only added to the charm for me.. just wear ear plugs if you’re a lite sleeper.

This hotel dates from 1912. It has been beautifully redone maintaining a lot of the original charm but modernizing for those of us in the 21st century. Our room was spectacular. Wonderful views, super comfortable bed. Everything was just as nice as it could be. Next time in Hood River will probably stay there again

Rooms a tiny as is the bathroom and shower. The elevator is original to the building with the brass gate you have to close before it will work.

It is a historic hotel, so one should not expect all the modern furniture and decorations. The sink is in the living area, the shower is tiny, the toilet is way the heck down there, The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and they show great love for dogs. Walkability to nearby stores, coffee shops, restaurants and bars is outstanding. Be prepared to climb some hills. Parking is an issue. Your choices are to pay $18 a day to park in a lot that is some distance away and an uphill walk back to the hotel, or park on the street and use the modern parking meters in place. You have to pay for parking between 8 am and 6 pm, and you can only pay a maximum of three hours at a time. This is problematic! You will have to return to your car to update payment for the next period of time, which is very inconvenient. Since you cannot prepay for an entire day, you will need to climb out of bed and feed the meter by 8 am. You are allowed to pay for weekly or monthly parking passes, but when you are just in town for a few days, it is not a value proposition. I think parking would be my number one complaint. It is very noisy, with the freeway, street traffic, and trains. Tough to get a good night's sleep. But if you are willing to overlook those inconveniences, then you will be rewarded with wonderful staff and great mobility. I would stay here again just for those last two mentions.

Staff were conversant but not fully responsive to needs

Staff was amazing with a glass of wine or beer at check-in and volunteering upgrades that were available. It was an older building with old fashioned elevator, so a little kitchy but fun. Parking was in a public lot about half block away, but no problem given how fun the town is.

Excellent location in downtown Hood River. Love the nostalgia the hotel showcases.
-
Great central location. Our room was VERY small and the hotel really needs to be renovated. Lot's of peeling and chipped paint everywhere.

Very good

Staff was rude and unprofessional. Accommodations were not comfortable. I wish I hadn’t booked here.

Great historic spot in the heart of Hood River’s downtown. Friendly staff and comfy room and bed, though historic inn sized! Only recommendation I’d make is to vacuum/sweep the entry mats and lobby doorway area. It’s the first impression, & while I get that Hood River is famed for its strong winds, the entry could be a little more welcoming and spiffy. That said, rooms are tidy and lobby area a nice spot to unwind.
