Stoney Creek Hotel Kansas City - Independence

Loved the vibe of the hotel. It was chill and relaxed, with a nice view of a lake area and seating overlooking the water. Loved the bar area and drinks were great!

It was fine room was under renovations and balcony’s were. Not in use. Room had a funny smell bit it was fine

The beds were rock hard

This was our second time staying here. The front desk person was kind enough to switch our room to the first floor. We really appreciated it. The hotel is a bit dated but it's in a great location and we enjoyed the breakfast. Our bed was very comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay here. We plan to come back whenever we're in the area. It's close to restaurants and shopping.

Beware - the hotel does not honor the room that is booked and paid for! We booked a king size bed and when we got there we were told they were sold out. They “upgraded” us to a room with two double beds and a sleeper sofa. A room with smaller beds and a cheaper nightly rate is not an upgrade! The company appears to be more concerned about their rooms being full than honoring what the customer purchased. I was looking forward to staying at this hotel but won’t be coming back!

Nice property with a wonderful view of the lake.

One of the nicest, cleanest places I've ever stayed, beautifully decorated and kind people working there. Location and parking lot felt extremely safe. Close to major highways, a Panera and any other store or restaurant you want. Convenient for visiting historic sites and museums like the National World War I Memorial and Museum in Kansas City. I also drove to Abilene one day, only 2.5 hours away, to see the Eisenhower Presidential Museum, home, and grave, and the Combat Air Museum in Topeka. Wonderful stay! I only review if I'm extremely happy or extremely disgusted and I was extremely happy at Stoney Creek. Thank you!

The hotel was very nice, with great rustic decor. Staff was great. Hotel was extremely clean. The beds were awful. So uncomfortable. I could feel springs and they squeaked a lot. I’m a fairly still sleeper, so the noisiness didn’t bother me much. But they definitely need to update beds.

The room was spacious, clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel.
