Extended Stay America Premier Suites - Cleveland - Independence

The worst part of our stay was the last night!! the hotel had no hot water for an entire day. leaving my family unable to shower. I contacted Expedia, who contacted the hotel, but the hotel refused to give any refund, partial refund, credit, or any compensation. My family and I stayed here for one week, and I will never stay again. The hotel advertises queen beds, but they are actually full-size beds. Unlike most hotels, they charge for basic services. You have to pay for room service, so no fresh bedding. your used towels to the front desk for clean ones, and take your own trash downstairs or be charged a fee. It feels more like renting an apartment than staying at a hotel. The beds were uncomfortable, and the front desk inconsistent. One employee gave me a broom to clean the room, but on checkout day another employee claimed they didn’t have one. I had to clean the floor with one of their towels, which got dirty. The bottoms of our feet also got dirty from walking barefoot, so the floors were not even mopped before we arrived. Their policies are excessive. They charge stained sheets, even though hotels wash all bedding after every guest. They also charge guests with outrageous charges if kitchen items aren’t returned.—don’t expect breakfast. Their “breakfast” is just granola bars, morning coffee, and sometimes cold hard-boiled eggs. Overall, this hotel seems more interested in charging guests extra fees than giving good customer service. I would not recommend staying here!

The property itself was poorly maintained. The elevator was filthy, the hallways smelled, and the room next to ours was cooking steaks with the door open, filling the hallway with smoke and cooking odors. The check-in experience was also disappointing. Vera was on a personal cell phone call when we arrived, seated away from the front desk, and came across as rude and unwelcoming. Instead of continuing our vacation, we had to drive all the way home, arriving around 2:00 a.m. with two exhausted, upset children. Expedia refunded the room because the hotel couldn’t provide what we booked, but the hotel still captured the $100 incidental deposit, and more than a week later I am still trying to get that charge reversed. I have photos documenting the room and property. I would not stay here again.

The bathroom tub had a backed up drain and NO shower curtain. There were only two bath towels for a room that held six people. We asked for maintenance for the drain and were told that we could speak with them on Monday, it was currently Friday, and there wouldn't be a maintenence person available to repair the drain. We paid $211.29 for a one night stay in a room without enough beds for our family, in a hotel with Carlton the completely useless front desk person, who only seemed capable of repeating, "I'm the only person here. I can't help you." Yet, had no problem standing and talking with security guard for over 40 min. No help.

I booked this room through a link from my workplace to attend a conference. When I arrived my reservation was cancelled and had no way to get a room there as it was fully booked. I provided a corp credit card during my booking but they told me due to non payment my booking was cancelled.

Our stay was terrible. The tub wouldn’t drain. There was no bedding for the pull out bed. My husband woke up in FULL BODY welts and was sick for 2 days. We called them and they said there was “damages” to the room and they had photos. When asked what damages they stated a washcloth covered in makeup couldn’t be cleaned. A refund was requested and ignored so we contacted our bank as we could not get anyone to help us so we were left with no choice.

Comfortable place to stay.

There were no amenities whatsoever in the room, including no hair dryer, coffee maker, microwave, cups, or bedding for pullout couch. The telephone did not work. Apparently you are supposed to call and request kitchen supplies if needed but that is hard to do with no working phone. In addition, since there is only 1 person working at 4:30pm, you are expected to go pick up any supplies missing from the room. There is only one elevator operating and you can expect to wait 10 minutes for it to arrive. The entire hotel smells like stinky food. There is NO breakfast unless you count yogurt and bagged muffins as a breakfast, the coffee was instant. This hotel was not even close to worth the $300/night charge.

I thought the price was high for what I got.

Was not what i expected. A true testament of you get what you pay for. I was fooled by reviews that could have been fake. The property smelled of marijuana everywhere. We could not stay there and the manager and person on duty were very kind and gave us a refund.

Great customer service

We were at a Cleveland Guardians game tired when we checked in and just wanted a hot shower and good night sleep. We had two adults and 3 kids (11,13,15). Who puts a family of five in a room with a broken shower. The knob to pull the water through the shower head was completely broken. We DID NOT get a shower. The front desk said the general manager would call us. No one called. We are still waiting. The breakfast was terrible. Stale broken nature valley bars that crumbled upon opening ( I hope housekeeping vaccines our room before the next guest arrived) and my family of 5 had to share one orange. I asked if we could have one more and the hotel attendant just looked at me. We were returning to Cleveland at the end of the month and said if this was a good stay we would rebook this hotel. Now I will NEVER book this brand of hotels again - extended stay of America they are horrible. Worst experience.

Hotel was perfect for our group that was in for a concert. 10 min ride to the city , great spacious rooms

Clean and fairly new.

One elevator was down. Flickering lights in the room. Sticky syrup on the phone. TV didn’t work. Besides beverages, there were only 2 eggs+2 muffins and a granola bar available when I went down for breakfast. Check in was fast and efficient. Location was perfect!

Staff were friendly and accommodating however, the floors in our room were filthy- turned my daughter’s socks black. Breakfast foods ran out about 7am (starts at 6) and were not restocked.

Overall it is not well maintained. Elevator carpet is soiled and dirty. The "continental" breakfast is quite a joke -- only a couple package food (i.e. ultra-processed factory made food).

My overall experience was disappointing. The shower was not working properly, which was very inconvenient. In addition, the staff was not friendly or helpful when addressing concerns. Unfortunately, the service and accommodations did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend staying here based on my experience.

STAY WAS FINE. HALLS DIRTY, ROOMS NICE
