Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jackson Downtown - Coliseum by IHG

Small cafe shop was very poorly stocked which made eating in or snacking more difficult for someone who flew in and didn’t have a rental car. Was warned about walking in the area by couple of ride share drivers.

I had a reservation that was prepaid for 2 rooms the hotel clerk canceled my rooms after we had checked in not even notifying us that she had done this after which we were left with no rooms. Staff is very unprofessional does not understand customer service nor communication. The whole hotel really needs to be demolished the doors don’t lock, bed sheets had holes in them. The pictures that are shown on the website is nothing like it in person horrible experience!!!!

Hand soap was out but I called down and they brought some. Shower drained slow. Staff was friendly and nice.

Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. It was convenient to where I had to be while there. I stayed here because I stayed here the previous year and had a good experience. This time was very different. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, but I hate to feel like I'm bothering you when I need help or have a question. It was one that made me feel like that and I had already checked out. Their breakfast was not up to par, only had biscuits, egg omelet, and grits one morning and only biscuits and grits the next day. The juice machine was not working. Because of short staff, you had to go down to front desk if you needed help because they didn't answer the phone. Checking out my room, I looked into the microwave, and there was a bowl still left in there for a while. It had grown mold on it and all. I told the manager about it that morning, but when I returned later that night, it was still there. I had to go back downstairs and informed them again. The morning manager came and retrieved it and issued an apology, which I accepted. However, it made me wonder if that room was fully cleaned. Then I had to get something clarified with my payment. Even though I paid for my room before checking in, they still ran my card after I checked out, with some type of $25 fee added to it. I've never experienced that before, but I was told it would drop off, so I'm monitoring my account. Based on my experience, I will not be staying here again.

Many broken items in our room. Elevator appears to be on verge of failing. We had a large room. That was about the only positive. Somewhat sketchy neighborhood. In need of renovation.

Room was nice and clean. Kids enjoyed the breakfast, Staff was helpful and friendly. Bathroom could use some updating.
