Historic charm. Great location. Warm staff.

Great place to stay a night or two while in Juneau. Staff was great and the rooms are clean.

This is an historic hotel and bar built in 1913. Only has a few rooms and a cannabis dispensary is located right next door. This is a very unique experience and I thought it was great. Must see if in Juneau.

I got the cheapest room with the shared bathroom skeptical at first , but it ended up being a great stay . Bathroom was spacious and I didn’t have to fight over a bathroom with others as I had anticipated , there’s also multiple if one is occupied . Never had to wait it was always available and clean , it also had a key pad to enter . Felt safe and secure . Even considering I stayed during peak summer hours. The hotel staff was their 24/7 at office besides the maids , any time there is a need for new sheets or towels the maids were on it . Easy check in and easy check out . Gets slightly loud considering there is a bar down stairs but they close down early and it’s not to loud unless there is an event . I would say a 10/10 considering the vintage feeling and modern amenities it was well worth it for the price and it’s in walking distance from anything in the downtown area . Definitely helps if you just plan to stay local . I would highly recommend this hotel and I plan to stay in the future if given the opportunity.

The ordinance should have been enforced for 10 PM. We stayed overnight on a MONDAY!

The room was very nice, and so was the music.

Old, historic, bathroom down the hall, staff terrific, smelled like it was 100+ years old but not in a bad way. We enjoyed every minute of our 3 nights there. The stairs were steep and inappropriate for any one with mobility problems. In the middle of old town Juneau.

When I checked in, I was arriving by seaplane and I had three heavy bags. I was on the third floor, and there is no elevator. I asked at check-in if I could leave a bag I did not need to carry to my room at the desk and retrieve in the morning before my 7 AM flight. I was told this would be OK. However, 645 and the front desk was still not open. I had to fly away, leaving all of my clothes after living in Alaska for a month. Then I called many times and have not received any calls back about my luggage. They also charged a different card than the card that was used to reserve the room. The clerk that checked me in should totally be fired total incompetence.

There is a bar on the ground floor which has karaoke some nights starting around 9 PM and then open mic nights some other nights- which can go until 2AM. Being a old(rustic) hotel there is little sound insulation and the music/noise comes up into the rooms above quite easily...especially if you are on 2nd level directly above the bar. Lots of fun for people who are partying - but not conducive to sleeping in my experience. The staff was helpful anytime I needed anything. There is no phone in the room - so if you need the front desk you will have to call on your cell phone to the hotel. A true piece of Alaska Gold Rush era historical accommodations - but be ready for a "rustic" experience at a fair price.

Loved the place. Great staff. Awesome location. I would stay here again !

The only negative was communication. After booking we were informed via Hotels.com that the desk is only manned until 4pm, and if we planned to arrive later we had to make prior arrangements with the hotel. Despite a call, text and message we could not get a response. However, we arrived at approximately midnight and was greeted at reception, so all was fine in the end. But it was stressful "not knowing"

It was super cool experience, however the pictures didn’t make it clear that you’d have communal bathrooms and showers, nor did I see it listed anywhere that we wouldn’t have one in the room. Not something I necessarily minded, but they didn’t have any ventilation in the bathrooms so it felt and smelt really dirty. Like you were showering in a Porta potty, it was hard to feel clean staying here. It being in the heart of downtown town made the experience worth it! I would recommend staying here I just think not knowing you’d be sharing a bathroom/ showering area with no ventilation threw me off a bit.

Rooms were great and staff was outstanding. However the property is historic and shows its age. We were on the third floor and it’s all stairs. No worries just wasn’t ready at the end of a long day for that. Bar was beautiful and certainly historic. Location is downtown and close to everything. I would stay again but I’m better prepared this time.

The bar is open till 0300, you won’t be sleeping. Have to share a bathroom with the whole floor, no air. Staff is nice.

Great place right in town for an overnight stay.

Overall good location in downtown Juneau. Was visiting for a conference so this was a great location near the convention center. We didn’t have a private shower/bathroom and the shared spaces definitely need to be upgraded. The walls and tiles are peeling. Most nights were quiet but one night was karaoke at the bar downstairs and it was extremely loud past midnight. I recommend for a quick stay and good location not for luxury.

We enjoyed our stay at the Alaskan Hotel very much! We knew it was an old hotel, built in 1913, but we enjoy unique, historic properties. That is not everyone’s preference. We had the “shared bathroom” experience because we booked last minute due to airline cancellations. That was fine with us - the bathrooms and showers were very clean - but again, that would not be everyone’s cup of tea. It was very well located for our needs so location was honestly our first concern. The staff was so nice - they let us check in early when we showed up from the airport, which we so much appreciated! Overall, it was a good but brief stay and we would book them again if we ever return to Juneau.

(1) Close to downtown and the cruise terminal (2) The room is spacious (3) The bed is comfy (4) The staff is very pleasant and helpful Bad:- (1) Bathroom is very small and no ventilation (2) Can hear the music from the bar (3) No air-conditioning; have to open the side window to get fresh air

The history of the hotel and the bar. We also liked being able to stream Netflix from the room. Stairs! Coming from the back parking lot, the signs were not really clear where to go while we were dragging around suitcases.
