Residence Inn by Marriott Kansas City Country Club Plaza

We were on the 4th floor which I assume allows pets because our carpet smelled like pee if you got close, which we did with a toddler. It wasn’t cleaned as well as we’d have liked, finding tiny things in the carpet and in the cupboards. It’s an older building so expect some water damage. The air conditioning was only on or off. If I tried to raise the temp slightly, it would switch to heat. No thanks. The breakfast was very average. Your basic scrambled eggs and waffles with cereal and bought muffins. Terrible coffee. The location was good though!

The location is excellent. The staff is very Friendly. . The breakfast water is never hot .

Breakfast was good but once the hotel changes all the utensils in paper products, it lowers the CLASS of the hotel. What a shame. Also, there should be HOT WATER in the breakfast room as I couldn't make my hot tea in the morning. Very unhappy about that.

The location of this property was excellent; it's within walking distance of lots of cute boutiques and standard shops such as Sephora, Pandora, Nike, Lulu, etc. It was also very close to several local pubs and restaurant options. When we do use Uber to the stadium and BBQ places, we were within a 10-minute drive. Our longest drive was to the airport, but nothing crazy. The staff was all very nice. The suite was way bigger than I expected. Very roomy and plenty of space for a couple. The continental breakfast was plentiful, with lots of warm options as well as ready-to-go items.

Check in was at 3pm but room was available until after 5pm. Front desk lady was sarcastic and not apologetic at all when we expressed our frustration and urgency to enter the room. She was complaining about her own situation (staff shortage).

Could not recommend less. Bummer. Nice staff though!

Wonderful stay! The room was very clean, comfortable, and featured exceptional amenities. It is clear the hotel puts a lot of thought into creating a peaceful, beautiful environment for guests. Breakfast was great, everything was spotless, and the location is beautiful. Highly recommended! Thank you

Great stay, had everything we needed for the world cup game !

We checked in around 6:00 pm went to room unpacked and went to leave and the door did not lock. Attempted to contact the front desk but the phone wasn’t working something about internet down but we had wifi? Went down to front desk she asked if we wanted to change rooms so we packed up and moved to another room that was not as “nice” as the first one. I use that word loosely. Fridge was in the bathroom, dirty shorts in the closet air conditioner leaked all night. Approached front desk and asked about air conditioner and they said maintenance wasn’t available so do we want to switch rooms?? This is twice now. I would find another place to stay if you are looking. We stayed two nights and had to move three times.

We had a really good time. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and they had a good breakfast for in the morning as well. Would recommend to anyone coming to Kansas City!

Room was clean and spacious, well thought out design. (Some friends on the same trip had a different experience - loud AC unit duct taped to a window.) Bed was comfortable, bathroom had plenty of warm water, kitchen amenities were great. Breakfast was good with many options. Staff was helpful and friendly. Cost seemed high, but could have been partly due to FIFA events (this was not why we were in town).
