This hotel has really gone down hill. Rooms are just average, really dated, and need of repair. Bar and restaurant staff were good and provided good service. The front desk staff seems annoyed you are staying with them. We’ve probably stayed here 10 times, it’s time to find something different.

Clean , really nice lobby and hang out areas

Powdered coffee creamer in a $400 a night hotel room is wild.

Everything was amazing, however room service for breakfast had two opportunities to make an impression and both times were a 6/10. Food was flavorful, no doubt. However, it was lukewarm warm at best and the steak was under cooked. Estimated timing for food was 15 min and ordered first thing in the morning, we ended up waiting an hour the first time then 30 min the next time. Aside from that, 7/10 overall hotel experience.

This is a one-time grand hotel that has aged not-that-well. The outer facade is in desperate need of a makeover, or at least a paint job.. The hotel seems understaffed (I had to leave a message with room service) and the restaurant workers tried their best but seemed overwhelmed by the volume (and it wasn't even nearly at capacity). The location is unbeatable but it would behoove them to do a serious rehab….

Great location, wonderful staff

Only issue is the beds are too firm; otherwise the room was great. Also you should have an extra pillow available in the closet if guests need it or would like another pillow.

Great hotel, quiet and clean. Great pool.

Was unaware this property is in foreclosure and changing hands, but the staff was excellent and helpful. The restaurant was well run with very good food and reasonable prices. The outdoor pool deck could use attention, and the pool was freezing cold so we didn’t get in. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the Plaza, so we sat outside morning and evening. Again, it could use some attention and a thorough scrubbing of the chairs (or maybe new), but we did enjoy it there. I’m looking forward to seeing what new ownership may bring, but I would stay here again. The rooms are pricey for an older hotel, but the location is great!

Smell like sewerwater, mildew I guess the hall way flooded and the smell was so strong it came into the room

Great! Thank you.

The garage was really the biggest problem- I think there was a urine stink and a pile of vomit that hadn’t been cleaned. Definitely I can imagine the challenge being so close to the plaza, but they ought to keep it cleaner.

This is a wonderful hotel. It should have a 4.8 rating. It is the original classic property that once was the Alameda Plaza in the 1970s and the Ritz Carlton in the 1990s. It has old world KC charm overlooking the beautiful Country Club Plaza but new interior. Brunch is outstanding. Staff are helpful, very friendly, and professional and extremely knowledgeable for those that may not know the area. Outdoor pool area is fantastic with plenty of room to lounge.

We stayed one night on a staycation and staff and room were amazing! Thank you!

I did not respond to texts from front desk, asking how my stay was- so that’s my fault. I was on a trip for a college orientation for our daughter and wasn’t in the room more than to sleep and grab a quick shower. Day one- barista was friendly and outgoing. Second day- same barista was rude and seemed annoyed that I placed an order that required her to work, an order that consisted of 3 drinks. Perhaps a bad day- perhaps because the manager wasn’t present as they were the prev day- she was showing her true customer service- not sorry that my day starts at 4am- and I only waited until 6:45; they open at 6:30, to come down to the coffee shop- but - you’re open- I don’t need to apologize! Garage gates were up, 24/7- yet charged $30 per day- for self parking that ANYONE could have used- without paying. Credit card charged $100 more than reservation booking showed- still waiting for final confirmation- checked out yesterday at about 9am- no final bill provided nor receipt- so we shall see if they lower the charged amount or if I have to file a complaint with my credit card company.

The room was nice and clean. I did have to request for the balcony door to be repaired and for the soaps to be refilled but those happened immediately. The pool was lovely, although they were out of towels and the entrance to the pool was hard to find.
