InterContinental Kansas City at The Plaza by IHG

The staff was exceptional from check in…Melinda was very helpful with recommendations for sight seeing.

Great location, clean, beautiful sunset views from the balcony, accommodating staff and breakfast was good. The pool was nice too but very crowded.

The Intercontinental near Kansas City's Country Club Plaza is a lovely hotel, although not the five-star facility it might have been in years past. I heard from a friend also staying there during my recent visit to KC that the hotel holding company is now in bankruptcy. It shows. The balcony off the hallway on the way to my room needs some clean up; there were some discarded paper cups and related trash. Also I was disappointed my room did not include a microwave. The fridge was nice, but . . . Staff was courteous, especially the valet guys. One even remembered me from a prior stay.

Everything was great except for checking in. The room was nice, the balcony was cool with a nice view, they had a place to smoke cigars. But check in was really slow and only one person was checking people in while others were oblivious and in their own world.

Bathroom had mold in it. Hair was all over bathroom floor and in bed sheets. Convenient location and appreciate the outdoor pool. Staff was not very friendly. For the price, I expected more. Would not recommend staying.

The restaurant needs some work. The orders were taken incorrectly, meaning we did not get the food we chose. Some was right on the plate but not all. Chef needs to know what steak is ordered and prepare the correct one.

We like to stay here. Unfortunately, this time the first room we were given had hair all over the bathroom. We were given another room that was better but weren’t offered an upgrade, good credit, hotel points or anything to compensate for having to move a family of 4 to another room.

The staff here are very helpful and friendly. We appreciated the close proximity to the Plaza where we shopped and dined. It was also super easy to bring our two small dogs and walk them when needed. Our room was okay. The hotel room definitely needed a bit of updating and the carpet could use cleaning. All in all we really enjoyed our stay as it was affordable and convenient for our weekend stay.

Everything was great, except one of the lights by bed flickered on and off so we just shut it off. Outlet was behind the bed so we just left it off

Great hotel and very nice welcoming staff

Enjoyed the hotel’s proximity to the plaza. Very walkable to everything in the area. The hotel itself is a little dated which can be seen in various areas around, but the staff was very helpful and friendly. Would stay there again.

I didnt care for the smell in the hallway for that amount of money I paid I expected better

The hotel is in a great location, great pool, it is just run down… stains in the bathroom countertop, stains in the showers, the bathroom door was all torn up on the bottom and peeling, they had extension cords running from the middle of the wall to the side table lamp… pictures were clearly missing from the wall… it needs updating and remodeling badly!!!!

Room was spacious. Kids loved the pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Would be nice to be able to stream TV options. Current carrier didn’t offer many options. Shower water temp was great! Staff very friendly. Loved the option of live music on the weekend. Friday night the 24th was excellent singer. Saturday night the 25th not nearly as good but still enjoyed a place to have a drink and music.

The room still had decorations from previous guests, the pull out bed had no sheets and non available, the pool was disgusting, the water was gross and pool side was trashed with beer cans and trash. We tried to get a trash bag and that processes took 20 min., as the staff was not helpful at all. When checking in the staff was not pleasant or welcoming

Included in our stay was the use of the concierge room which was well attended by the staff. The gentleman hosting us in the concierge room were both very helpful.
