Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton

Super nice and helpful staff. AC somewhat worked. The door lock usually didn’t work. Had to get new keys twice.

I will admit the hotel was very nice. Unfortunately, I did have a few issues. When I first checked in, the 2 folks ahead of me received a glass of bubbly. The 2 folks who showed up after me also received a glass of bubbly. I wasn't offered a damn thing. My second issue. The next morning, house keeping came by. I asked if they could come back. When I said come back in 2 hrs, one of the ladies rolled her eyes and mouthed "2 hrs". I felt that was quite rued. So, other than rued staff, the place was great.

Checkin was not smooth because of a new computer system, that’s ok. They were trying. The AC was not working in our room. We were told someone was going to check on it while we were out. They told us the engineer was there and the room is now cool. We walked in to see two fans that weren’t completely on. The room was stuffy and not comfortable so I asked for a room change. They asked me to stop by the front day before I headed out in the morning so everyone is on the same page and he will make a note about the room change. I asked for a room change in the morning before we headed out for the day. The next morning I checked in at the front desk and no one knew what I was talking about. After explaining the situation again the front desk clerk had me go pack up all my belongings and said if a room comes up they will transfer my belongings over. This was frustrating because we had plans for the day and was on a schedule. They should have relayed this the night before. Having coming back from a full day of activities I asked if our room was ready and belongings were moved over if not I can go move it myself. The female looked at me like I was crazy and said why are we moving? Overall, I would say the restaurant was great. The location was convenient but the front staff communication with each other and clients could be better.

Just know that you will pay $50 a day for parking here and they won’t tell you when you check in and when you ask is the parking free or do I have to pay for it they will tell you it’s free. Then get you at the end of your stay

Beautiful rooms and views, but zero communication between staff. I wanted to extend my stay and was told id be able to , just to end up being told the next morning that my room got booked up and I had to depart from my room last minute with my baby and child. I had asked to speak with General Manager during two different occasions and was never able to get a hold of her. I still have yet to receive a call back about my experience. Overall Jeff and the views are what really made this place.

I loved this hotel. Beautiful views and lobby. Convenient location. The lit torches on the entry drive was a lovely touch. The people at the front desk and the breakfast bar were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. I did have issue trying to get a hold of guest services or the front desk both before and during my stay. The wifi password was not given to me upon check-in, or listed on the keycard, and despite looking through the information given to me, throughout my room, and by researching the pages where the in-room QR code linked, I could never find it. I tried calling the front desk dozens of times throughout my stay and no one ever answered. Everything else was amazing and I would definitely come back, and just make sure to ask about WIFI at check in :)

It was a super hot weekend and their AC’s were not equipped to properly cool the rooms. They delivered fan, to our room, which helped.

Shores Beach with several restaurants, bars, and shops along the way. I walked into downtown La Jolla, but it is an uphill 20+ minute walk along a busy street.

Great place! Wonderful views! But did not like the additional daily fees that get added on to your bill! Unexpected and they don’t notify you before!

The landscape and outdoor space is beautiful. The location is great! The rooms need a little upgrade.

It was an amazing room and an even more enjoyable experience staying at the Hotel La Jolla.

This was our first time staying at the property and I wish we had more than a one night's stay. I grew up in La Jolla and we live in North County. We came to town to have a beach BBQ with my cousins who were in from out of town and our stay was a matter of convenience, The staff member who checked us in was so helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, very clean, and nicely decorated. The room had a balcony with a couple of chairs that looked out over the front of the property and it had a peak ocean view. We had a drink in the bar during the happy hour. Most drinks were $10 during the happy hour, but you have to pay attention because my husband ordered a drink and it was double that price. The bed was very comfortable and our room was quiet. We took advantage of the $30 off breakfast. The view from the dining room was outstanding. You could see all of La Jolla Shores. All of the members of the wait staff were friendly and attentive. We both had an eggs benedict dish and I must say that was one of the best benedicts I have ever had in my life. Whenever we were in the halls or on an elevator, the housekeeping staff was cheerful and greeted us. I am very sorry we never made it out to the pool or to explore any of the outside areas of the hotel so I can't comment on them. This will be our place to stay each year when we visit my cousins. I'm sold!

We stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. We had a wonderful view of the ocean and drone 4th of July show. It's 2 blocks away from some great restaurants, kayak/snorkel tours and the actual beach. The room was clean and beds were so comfortable. On the 4th of July they cooked hamburgers and hotdogs at a reduced price. When we saw that we would have the pool and lounge chairs to ourselves, we spent the day of the 4th here rather than fight the crowd at the beach. It was so relaxing. This hotel helped us have a relaxing, memorable weekend.
