La Jolla Riviera Inn

We were a block away from burgers, icecream, Italian, sushi, Mexican and standard high end American cuisine. I could hand the kids some money and let them wander, because it is such a safe area. We absolutely loved the stay! It was an easy two block walk to boogie boarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. The center of La Jolla proper is a ten minute drive, or a quick Uber. When you leave the village it is a fifteen minute drive inland to the big box stores. (helpful hint: when you exit the hotel and turn left, it is a block and a half to the hidden public access easement to the snorkeling beach!) Great staff, great location, and a relaxing time. Our new favorite place!

Loved our stay!! It was hot and air conditioning would of been nice but can’t beat the location!!!

The room was super clean. But there is no ac unit. The floor length blind panels kept falling off of the rod at random times during the night. Parking is rough. I was told to park in 2 different specific spots but there were already cars in them. Was not charged for parking. Great location to walk to the beach or restaurants and small shops. Pool closes early 8pm.

It is a wonderful location walking distance to the beach and the nearby restaurants. The gentleman at the front desk / lobby office was FANTASTIC!!! Parking is limited and first come first serve. Our room did not have A/C (the hotel let us know as soon as we booked the room) but it has ceiling fans and two additional fans. It was around mid 70's low 80's in July but we were ok with the fans alone. It has a small pool which closes at 8pm. If you want to be close to the beach for a reasonable price this is a wonderful choice!

Very very friendly and accommodating. The front desk even let us use his office fan!! We will be staying here again next year!!

Location Clean grounds Friendly attendants Clean pool It’s literally a 1 br apartment basically with a kitchenette, I wasn’t expecting that. I could probably think of more, Cons Slightly dingy as far as cleanliness goes, could’ve been worse and definitely could’ve been better. Baseboards, chair was kinda gross, dusty bathroom a couple stray hairs. No AC, wasn’t expecting but made due with the fan and windows open. Overall, for the price I was happy with my experience. My family and I felt safe and we had a great time,

I absolutely love this place. The residents are lovely and the apartment is comfortable and clean. It is my 1st choice for accommodations in San Diego.

Great location, staff was great. Only downside is for the price it could definitely use an upgrade. AC would be a good choice. That’s the only reason for four outta five stars.

Older building but rooms were clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. We would go back again.

Excellent location!!

We had a blast except when we took a shower the water was draining on the side of the tub and bathroom flooded. It wasn’t fun trying to clean and drying up the bathroom. We went on vacation not to be cleaning up bathroom.

The room was also not cleaned well. There was hair and spots missed. Spider webs by the front door and lamps.

Staff was amazing. The rooms could use some upgrading.

For La Jolla, this was pretty good in a very expensive market on the price quality spectrum. A typical motel from the 1960s that’s been renovated. The staff is very nice, and parking is easy.

My room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were welcoming and accommodating, and the location was excellent, being a couple of blocks from the amazing La Jolla Shores beach! It was the perfect choice for my mini vacation to visit my son.

It was clean Most of the interior did not work. Road noise outside woke us up early. Apartments were very dated.

My family had a good time during our stay here. Staff were kind and helpful. Love the beach supplies they had for customers to borrow for the beach, which was only about a 10 minute walk.
