When we initially checked in we got our first room. Let me just say, disgusting. There was rotting wood in the bathroom, the bed sheets were dirty, the door didn’t close all the way, the shower floor was nasty and full of I don’t even know what. We went back to ask for another room and the staff seemed annoyed. Like sorry? I’m not staying in a dirty room. We get another room and just settled for it. Bed sheets were still gross. Beard trimmings in the sink. The cleanliness of this place was nasty. But as a young couple with no extra money to spare we just stuck with it. If you want a cheaper stay in Laguna beach this is the place to go to. But this is not a place to stay if you want something relatively nice.

quiet and comfortable room

Some of the rooms have very bright lights and fans that automatically come on in the bathrooms. HORRIBLE in the middle of the night. ACs need to be checked

This hotel is very well maintained and walking distance to the beach. Rooms are very quiet. Young lady at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful when I arrived.

The continental breakfast was decent, plus afternoon popsicles ! The location is wonderful - a short walk down to Crescent Cove and Shaw's Cove, near the northern end of the free Laguna Beach Shuttle, and only a 30-min walk to the town center. The cleaning staff needs improvement. Our hair conditioner bottle was empty. The room was clean when we checked in, but room attendant jumped the gun and started cleaning our room before we checked out. We had a couple of roaches scurry across our room floor. It's an old building with some issues, but we like its funky, coastal vibe. This is our second time staying here and will be happy to return.

During our stay, we had to take cold showers for the first four days because the hotel was experiencing problems with the hot water system. We were informed that the issue would be fixed, and fortunately we had hot water only during the last three days before our departure. At the time, the hotel assured us that we would receive compensation in the form of a discount on our stay due to this inconvenience. However, to this day, we have not received any refund or discount.

They put us in room 101 which is literally on PCH. It’s too close to a main highway. Traffic noise is very loud. This room should not be used as a hotel room. 101, 102 and 103 should not be hotel rooms. There are plenty on other rooms within the property.

This place was clean, close to the beach, and had decent amenities.

Location! Location! Location!! The location was perfect to go to the beach! The breakfast was supposed to be provided but it wasn’t on the first morning. The second day was. Also there was sand all over on the floor of the room where we stayed.
-
Rooms were clean. Couldn’t get extra towels 3 days in a row.

We enjoyed our stay at Costa Art Hotel. The rooms were nicely updated and very clean! Beds were very comfortable! Pool area was a little smaller than expected. Staff wasn’t always quickly accessible. We appreciated the beach chairs and umbrellas and breakfasts! Trolley stops are about a five minute walk.
-
It felt like an upgraded motel.
-
The ice maker never worked so we didn't have access to that our whole stay.
-
Very nice small hotel outside of the tourist area. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Walk down to Crescent Bay beach, watch sunset at Crescent Bay park or walk down to Heisler park and Main beach. It’s at the end of the long north shore trolley if you don’t want to walk or drive.
-
I liked its location away from the crowded beach area. I liked the breakfast. No one answers the phone and you can’t leave a message. The room we stayed in has a bathroom door with water damage that needs repair. For the price the room should be pristine! I couldn’t check out because no one was in the office and it was locked at 6:45 am. I left the keys in the room and called several times during the day to let them know but no one answered and I couldn’t leave a voice message.

The bed was good Facility needs a lot of maintenance. Floors dirty, air conditioner needs cleaning, lighting needed over sink, trash in walkways needed picked up, parking extremely tight, room service only done when asked.

I stay at this hotel every year for my annual trip to the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. Great location, on site parking, beach is just steps away and short walk or trolley ride to downtown Laguna Beach.
-
Great location, comfy beds, robes were very nice, great staff, breakfast was good

Location and attentive staff.

Make sure you take pictures of everything wrong in the room if you plan to stay here!!!! They charged me for incidentals because of a burn mark that was already on the floor when we got there! There was a stain under the sink, and many other issues in room 112. Sure hope they haven’t nickle and dimed anyone else for this.
