However, there were several areas that fell short of what I would expect from a five-star hotel. The soundproofing was quite poor—we could hear loud music and noise from a party until fairly late at night, even with all the doors and windows completely closed. The front desk setup also seemed inefficient. There was almost always a long line at reception, and the triage/queue system did not seem to help much with managing guests or reducing wait times. Dining options at the hotel are fairly limited, which means the available restaurants can get extremely crowded. The most disappointing part of the stay was the lack of a nursing/lactation room. For a five-star resort, I was very surprised that there was no private, designated space for nursing or pumping. This is a basic amenity that would make a significant difference for families traveling with infants. Overall, the property has a beautiful location and great ocean views, but the guest experience and amenities could use improvement to better match the expectations of a five-star resort.

Came for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend. We were greeting by friendly valet and front desk people. They even offered welcome champagne. We got there early so we had to wait for a room, but it was worth it since we got upgraded to a different room. The views here are worth it. You have access to a pool but we went down to the beach instead. We enjoyed drinks in their lobby area that even had someone playing live music. We dined inside our room for dinner since our view was perfect. Everywhere we went the staff greeted us with smiles and were so nice. Honestly, this was the best hotel stay I've ever had. We're definitely coming back.

The hotel itself is so beautiful and well-maintained. However, it is SO expensive that I expect a certain level of service. There was a huge line at check-in, it took 40 minutes, and no staff seemed to know what was going on. We felt very “on our own.” The staff who delivered room service was very nice though.

It was an amazing experience to stay at surf and sand resort. The ocean view and all the amenities are great! I think one of the best parts of our stay was the staff, they were so helpful and kind. Definitely would love to stay again.

This is an exceptional resort. We had such a special anniversary . The front desk was so helpful . The service at the restaurant was excellent and food was very good. Loved the view of the ocean from our room. Highly recommend getting a massage as well . All of the staff are so amazing.

Book a massage, take advantage of ocean views room, enjoy the considerate staff. It’s totally worth it.

My issue was that a bride and several of her guests checked in to get ready for the wedding. The staff would not allow them to take their own luggage to the room and then they lost it and couldn’t find it to bring it to the room making the bride late for the wedding. Unacceptable.

Beautiful, clean resort with gorgeous views of the ocean. Front desk staff was a little stuffy. otherwise, room service, pool, restaurant and staff were helpful and pleasant. If you want a more spacious hotel, stay at the Laguna Ritz Carlton. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay here for our anniversary.

Best place I've ever stayed.

This hotel is a must stay if you’re seeking ocean front views. The view from our beach front balcony were perfect. I only had two complaints. The sliding glass to the balcony was difficult to open. Beware of the stairs as they get slick from the moisture. Sadly, I fell victim to the same set of stairs twice in a day. Aside from that, we definitely will return for future stays.

Friendly service, great rooms, gift shop, and coffee shop. Felt very taken care of during a very busy holiday weekend. It’s not very clear from the room descriptions the difference between a Ocean View and Ocean Front room. Ocean View means you also get a view of the pool and closer to the noise while Ocean Front means you get a view that’s purely ocean. I had a second floor Ocean View room and at times the sound of the waves crashing into the rocks was a bit too loud when I tried to sleep. It was mostly high tide during the days I was there so there was not a deep beach in front of the hotel - I ended up going to another beach to have proper beach access.
