horrible bar staff, just rude people that work at the bar and restaurant, I also got a call at 11pm while it was quiet hours, from the front desk, then got accused for smoking while it's 11pm.... horrible lol

I Like everything.

Great property and family friendly. We enjoyed our stay, having a full functioning kitchen and being able to do laundry whenever we needed to was so great. My kids loved the pools and proximity to the beach. The food from the restaurant was also great. Will definitely be staying here again.

I stay here a lot. Property is always clean and maintained. Close to grocery store and restaurants. Beach is seasonal. Some times lots of beach, sometimes no beach at all. Just depends on season. While it’s not a hard go end property, it’s still very nice, and will always be my spot.

Very happy with the location - it was larger than expected and as convenient as we recalled. The room was larger than we expected and we had the loft! Expected a king and 2 twin bedroom and ended up with a king and queen bdrm plus the sofa bed and a loft with a queen and 2 twin. Could have slept 10 - a pleasant surprise. Only request would be to have the king bed replaced and air conditioning in the loft!

We saw cockroaches in several areas, including a very large one near the swimming pool that ran extremely fast. We also found a cockroach inside the dishwasher in our room. Overall, there were quite a lot of bugs around the property, including flying insects and small crawling bugs. When the windows or doors were open, it was very easy for them to get inside. On the positive side, all of the staff members we interacted with were very nice and helpful.

Beautiful property right on the beach. These are condos which means they have full size refrigerator, and stove. Its a bit expensive but so is everything else in Hawaii. Great place to stay, would stay again here.

The biggest concern was the lack of backup power or a generator. When the electricity went out, it was very scary and stressful. We couldn’t even get hot water to make a simple cup of coffee. During a hurricane or emergency situation, we expected the resort to have better backup power and emergency preparedness. Housekeeping was also disappointing. No one came to clean our room, and when we requested cleaning, we were told we would have to pay extra for it. Under these circumstances, we felt that was unreasonable. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, one receptionist was very rude, which made an already stressful situation even worse. We understand that the hotel cannot control a hurricane or power outage. However, emergency preparedness, guest communication, and support are things the hotel can control. We expected much better from a resort like Kāʻanapali Shores. Overall, this was a stressful and disappointing experience, and I hope management takes these concerns seriously to better protect and support guests during future emergencies.

Overall, staff was very friendly! Shout out to the female concierge! She is hilarious and knows how to deliver a good time. The two outdoor pools are gorgeous especially at night with the beachfront view. If you’re on a budget, I highly recommend. It is definitely an older establishment and the cleanliness of the rooms are a little subpar, but the staff and amenities make up for it. Also, the rooms have their own washer, dryer, full kitchen, and iron. It made packing so much easier.

We’ve stayed here a few times. The location is fabulous. We love the ocean front and wonderful walking path along the ocean. There is a wonderful family pool with a waterfall. This is the perfect place for a Hawaiian family holiday!

Great customer deface upon check in, the grounds were very very clean as were the pools and cabana areas! The room and decor were a little out dated but it was a great value and a really spacious room! The full kitchen was a huge bonus!

Problems we had were not caused by property we were there during tropical storm and power was out in entire west side of Maui. This obviously created a less then usual Hawaiian vacation. Again no actual problem with property, they were dealing with the issues the best they could and were trying to keep guests updated as much as possible

It’s like a little one bedroom apt, separate bedroom and full kitchen and giant bathroom and living room. We got the ocean view and there was nothing better than waking up walking out to the balcony and watching the sun rise and eat breakfast. One of my favorite parts. Great overall experience.
