We stayed in the partial beach front room and it was breathtaking. Bed was comfy, shower was hot, room was cleaned every other day. Only downside was our toilet was a bit finicky. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The restaurant inside was wonderful from the staff to the food. The resort credits were easy to spend on food and non-alcoholic drinks. They automatically apply. Some reviews said they were charged an arm and a leg at checkout and that was not the case for us. The detailed receipt was spot on. The complimentary trolly was the cherry on top. It was a 5 min ride to whalers village. They give you a schedule for pick up and drop off when you check in. The grounds were very well kept and clean. Pool chairs had lots of options and were never crowded. Would have liked an extra pool towel card, but not a big deal at all. I could not recommend this place more, we will be back!

Needs a remodel, beach front is fantastic. Staff was underwhelming. Hawaii is beautiful makes it hard to complain.

We are so happy we chose Royal Lahaina as our hotel for our stay at Maui for six days. We had a group of nine people (four grandparents, 3 kids and us) and the view of the ocean from our rooms was just perfect! The walk around the resort was just as beautiful and the staff were absolutely helpful and friendly. We’d love to visit again! Thank you for making it truly memorable!

Beach was very nice as was the pool area. Rooms are needing some TLC as they look old. Carpets need yo be replaced. Hotel was overpriced in our opinion, but maybe that’s normal now of Hawaii

The beach view was awesome. Our room a little outdated. We went through a 3rd party and paid resort fees through them and then got charged 300 more than we were supposed to.

Everything was fine We had an issue with the air conditioning system during our first night but the staff was very proactive in minimizing the impact and the next day everything was fixed

Music under the Bantan tree was a highlight. Jomar at the restaurant was super helpful dealing with g with food allergies. Great coffee in the room. The rest of the staff gave true aloha spirit throughout the stay.

The bungalows are a great choice with updated interiors but are in need of a deep cleaning. Extremely dusty blinds and zero attention to cleaning under cabinets, inside drawers, small areas, etc. Kimberly, at the front desk, is extremely helpful and was able to arrange a late (5pm) checkout for a fee. $40, plus tax, for daily self parking fees seems steep. Don't make the same mistake as me and overlook this in the details...it adds up fast and was unexpected since Expedia lists the pay at property price, which only includes daily resort fees, not parking fees. Looking back, it's clear if you know where to look on Expedia, but I didn't notice it upon booking and it doubled my expected balance upon checking out.

The property has acquaint charm as it’s built in the 60’s and they’ve updated some things but not the big wood furnishings which we liked. Remember to be kind to the birds as there are many sweet ones around the property. We loved that too. Don’t be caught off guard by fees at check out. Familiarize yourself with daily fees for the amenities and the PARKING. Don’t let this stop you, it’s Hawaii . I know we will be back . Mahalo!

The hotel location is great, you can take the beach walk to several other hotels and have breakfast or dinner. The Famous Luau is right on property which is nice. Staff was excellent, rooms were nice with comfy beds and blackout doors. Quick Valet service. The beachs amazing, if you walk toward the lava rocks you will see lots of turtles! All the extra costs. Its an additional $40 for parking or $45 for valet (which the extra $5 for valet is great because they are quick.) We had to pay $75 for beach chairs and umbrella and when we finished early, they made us carry the stuff back which if you are paying $75 you should not have to do and thats on top of the resorts fees.
