2 beds and an umbrella on the beach is $100 for the day, so if you miss the morning rush it can become an expensive day.

Room was not newly updated, old carpet. Could use renovations. But Great location and amazing snorkeling right at black rock on property , swam with giant sea turtles right there! Beautiful sunsets

The service was incredible, from Kimo at the pool services, Darwin at the the ocean bar and Jose at the scuba diving center. The people and the whole place was amazing and awesome.

Best location on Ka’Anapali! Loved walking to Whalers Village almost daily for our breakfast and dinners. Biggest gripe about the hotel is insane shortage on pool chairs- meaning 100% of them were “claimed” by 8am every day we were there!! We had to switch rooms based on finding a huge scurrying cockroach in our bed (I know - it’s Hawai’i but still…). They didn’t do anything to extra to accommodate us for troubles having to switch rooms. The bar food was actually really good. Gym equipment (elliptical and bikes) were broken and seriously outdated - they had chargers for the original I-Pod! But all that said, I would go back. They just need to tend to the property a little more in my opinion.

What we didn’t like: people “save” all the chairs super early and then disappear all day so there is no one in the chairs but also nowhere to sit. There really aren’t many amenities provided in exchange for your resort fee. Parts of the resort feel a little forgotten. The general area is very touristy which we did know but it was even more so than expected.

What I didn’t like was the fact that being a hotel guest there I still had to pay an outrageous amount for parking! Guests should have a discounted price or park for free with the price of the stay! Other than that all was great! But for that reason I will consider another hotel with parking included or cheaper.

The room while available on time was wet and smelled of damp/mold. The carpet was wet on arrival and the AC barely got below 74 our entire stay. The bathroom door didn’t shut because it was warped badly due to water pouring out the back of the shower/tub. The resort fee is $50 a day and that basically includes a pool towel. There are not enough loungers and people claim them before the towel kiosk opens at 8 am. For a family of four - fighting for one chair to share - and not in the shade was pretty lame. If you want a chair you can get after 3 pm. Booking a cabana was not an option as those were booked days in advance - even at $350 a day. My advice - stay somewhere else and walk along the path from whalers village to swim at Black Rock.

Locations and access to black rock was amazing!

Beautiful resort grounds but definitely feels dated. A lot of renovations happening and some of the property grounds near the beach need maintenance and upkeep. Room was nice, pools were nice and staff was amazing. Resort just needs refreshing, modernization, and at least some type of attempt to make the beach feel exclusive . It felt very public and crowded relative to the last time we stayed here

    Amazing views and great staff!

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

The room is outdated, our room had a small ant like bug infestation, they came and sprayed and made us stay out of the room for a few hours and the chemical smell remained all day and night. The snorkeling was amazing as well as the beach. Most of the staff was polite and helpful but there was one individual at the front desk that was always rude or at least came off that way. Dealt with this same individual 3 different times and was not a pleasant experience. Overall the property was nice but don’t think I would stay here again if I visit Maui in the future.
