La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Salt Lake City - Layton

I liked how close it was to stores and the mall. The room was big and bed was comfortable. The construction was kind of a pain. I didn’t get clear instruction on how to get to the room and I wish it was a little easier to get to the room. I have low oxygen so stairs are my enemy.

This place was super dirty noisy and a big fight with gangs broke out outside our room … the AC made a horrible sound and it stunk like a dirty locker room!!!

Hot tub was broken. our room stank like mold. toiler was broken and wouldnt flush. no parking because of in and out burger in the same parking lot. No syrup for the waffles at breakfast. Just dont stay here. it was really bad.

This hotel is under renovation, it is not safe for anyone. Their carpets were lose and you can easily trip. The smell is bad, the elevator dirty and with wall residue from the renovation, the room had a bad smell, the bath tube was dirty and stained, and on top of that there was people smoking mariguana and drink on the hotel parking lot. When I made my reservation no were on their website said that they were under renovation. When I saw all that I asked for a cancellation of my reservation and a full refund. I only got partial refund and it took me two weeks of calling to finally get a full refund.

We had a dog with us and so they put us in one of the pet friendly rooms but it absolutely stank. It was urine and just was terrible.

Property as well located near a physical rehab rehabilitation clinic, where my daughter was needing to be for a few weeks. The room was clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi in the room was miserable to the point of being unusable. I tried to complain to the general manager and sent him an email explaining the problem. I did not hear back until after I had checked out, over 24 hours after I sent my original email. However, several hours after I checked out responding to a request from the Hotel that I evaluate my stay, he got in touch with me and explained that he’s taken over the hotel recently and that all sorts of things are being fixed, including the Wi-Fi. I was sorry that it took me giving a mediocre review for him to contact me but he did contact me.

Not clean. Everything is so run down it is sad. Internet is technically available but practically unusable. Cannot escape noise from the higway

Location Renovation was a disaster and clearly overdue. Nasty!

The staff were the only bright spot. The place was loud, dogs barking, people yelling, and the marijuana fumes overwhelming. On top of that wee discovered bed bugs in our room. The place is old and going through renovations, but they clearly cater to a more down on your luck population. The staff were very friendly, but I'll never stay there again.

Clean

Some electric plugs did not work. Shower water was either too cold or way too hot. Plug/stopper in sink locked shut on second morning so water would not drain out. Caulk around tub was dirty & moldy. Reportedly no maintenance worker until 10:30 am and no housekeepers till 9 am.

It was gross. Other than the room being clean, the overall environment and building was extremely poor.

The hot tub was out of service and no WiFi it was down and the parking stinks for handicap spots

We realized later that night the smoke detector was wrapped. This is an obvious safety issue and since we cant reach we informed the front desk hoping they could resolve it. We were travelling with a toddler and are pretty concerned we were put in a room with things that could cause harm, and are illegal. They seemed to just brush it off. Our key also stopped working both days we were there and it had to be reprogrammed. Less of a concern but we came down to breakfast at 730 and were informed they were out of most of the hot food items. They were also out of milk, large plates, most condiments and seasonings. The front desk seemed very unconcerned with the fact breakfast had another 2.5 hours and they were running out of food. The pool was freezing and there were black hairs and rocks in and out of the pool.
