Franconia Notch Motel

This motel is dated and in need of much uptake. It looks better in the pictures than it actually is. However, it is a nice place to stay.

Not the most pleasant smelling place, some may think so but we didn't care for it. And needs upgrades desperately.

This old hotel and cottages has been around for a long time. It appears that this is fairly new owners and they do have a lot of work ahead of them, but they done a great job keeping the rooms nice and . So keep in mind if you're considering that these are old cottages and they have the old character which I love. In addition, it's right along the Pemi River and you can open the window in the the bathroom and listen to the water running down the river. Outback, there is a couple lawn chairs and you have steps to go down to the river and there's a couple picnic tables a hibachi grill to cook on and even a fire pit. The rooms like I said are older, but they are nice. There's two rooms both with I believe a queen bed, one of the rooms you can shut both doors for privacy. One of the doors goes into the bathroom and the other one goes into the main room. They do have a nice refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker along with a TV with excellent choices of viewing. They're also to air conditioner is one in each room.

We use this plance all the time we go hiking in Franconia/ White Forest National Park

Microwave didn't get hot - tried popping a bag of popcorn and it did nothing. Other than that, the stay was great.

Older motel in need of a face-lift. But a good price and a good night’s sleep before our day-hike next day. Clean. Convenient for North Woodstock.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice location right on a river that you can hear when you open the back window of the room. The motel is within an easy drive of nearby towns.

When I arrived and checked into my room, I was pretty disappointed. The room smelled, everything was outdated. I just didn’t feel comfortable at the property. I checked out a day early.

Do not stay here. Property is run down. Peeling paint, crumbling patched together parking lot that makes you say "Oh no" when you pull in. The room was musty with beat up furniture. The bathroom had sticky broken floors tiles. Hairs in corners the vanity. The enamel on the probably 60 year old tub was gone so it was stained and grungy. The white shower curtain was all brown at the bottom. When I got home after my trip I said to my wife you would have walked in said "Nope" and got back in the truck.

Nothing, smelled very moldy, shower floor was actually slimy and there were mouse traps in the room.

Got the job done and AC worked.
