The Leo Collection Detroit, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Disappointing

The hotel was nicely decorated. The rooms were spacious and the guy at the front desk SAM was Amazing! The tv did not work my entire 4day stay and the indoor pool was empty. Luckily I was only in the room to sleep so the tv wanted that big of a deal. I really wanted to go swimming though. That’s one of the reasons I picked this hotel. Other than those things everything was Great!

Unfortunately they were doing a lot of repairs will we were there. The T/V was not working and they were redoing the pool. There were dead bugs on the floor. The best thing about our stay was Crystal the receptionist. She was very nice.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby and room were clean. Only complaint was the cable box in our room did not work so I could not watch anything in the evening.

The room I wanted happened to be available For the amount of money I paid, No TVs worked in the rooms! The pool and hot tub weren’t available! Rooms were visible with doors wide open that hadn’t been clean in 24 hours!

Bad

The room had a very weak light near the door which was not bright at all considering it to be the main light in the room. The lamp next to the bed kept flashing the whole time which was better to just turn it off. I barely could see anything in the room with the terrible lighting. Also, the tv was not working at all. Now the cleanliness was not great. There was hair strands on the bed and the bedding was ripped up. Will not come again. Very disappointed.

The room was ok but the area outside was very loud, construction on the street right in front, people sitting outside right below the window and talking/smoking at 3 a.m.

The TV did not work and the pool was down

I did NOT receive the room I booked, I received one several tiers lower, even after waiting 15 min for the night manager to show - who was then rude & unapologetic. Breakfast was HORRIBLE, the TV didn't work 3/4 days & the experience ruined my whole trip.

The Breakfast was poor. No person on duty. Coffee was lukewarm . No batter for waffles. Toaster was broken. Utensils spoons were empty. Very low selection The pool was closed and has been for months but not listed before i booked. The TVs in all suites was broken. The did not get them fixed. I paid a premium price and a refusal to make it right

Exceptional

The room was huge, the front desk clerk was lovely, breakfast was good and it was affordable!

We ended up canceling our reservations the hotel did not have our accommodations and we still had to pay for 1 night booking.com and the hotel staff was not helpful

The breakfast was great! Perfect way to start the day! Being vegetarians it was perfect! The location was a bit far from stores and running areas or parks also the museums.
