Hotel Mai Downtown Long Beach

Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend Hotel Mai to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant place to stay. I’d definitely consider staying here again!

The hotel is definitely not what it is pictured. I definitely felt a sense of unsafety in the hotel room itself. There’s no latch on the door to lock it. It’s just one lock on the handle, which that didn’t feel very safe. Also, when I went into my room there was like a weird sewer like smell. I had to open up the windows. Also, the carpet leading into the halls is very dirty and it seems like they just don’t care about painting or keeping up the paint a lot of the walls leading up to the hotel rooms and the doors they were all dirty banged up streaked and when I went upstairs to go up into the rooftop, that sewer smell was so bad it definitely did not want to sit up there and spend time I think if they put more love into this hotel would actually be pretty acceptable especially getting latches on the door that would definitely secure the safety and then changing out the flooring I just think that the pricing for this hotel does not match moving forward. I definitely would’ve paid an extra 30 $40 more to stay at a nicer more luxurious hotel. I just needed to sleep truly and I looked at the pictures didn’t read the reviews. It seemed nice but when I got there, also there was a lot of homeless and people on drugs outside the hotel and the guests were questionable as well.

Rooms were very huge and the beds were very comfortable I enjoyed my stay only bad part was paying for parking

My rooms lights and TV didnt work. My windows had no covering. There's a residential building next door, and the entire building could see through my entire room, including the bed. Very uncomfortable.

Hotel is well positioned for getting around by public transport. A bit of street noise but when you are tired you sleep ok. All in all we were happy with our stay.

The shower door in our room kept opening. It wouldn’t stay shut. As well as a very bad energy felt within our room. Do not recommend. I also hate that properties make you pay to park where you’ve spent a lot of money to stay. It doesn’t make sense.

It was an ok experience. I loved how big the rooms are, actually pretty surprisingly big. Parking hard to find. Hallway carpet very dirty. I wanted to get some ice and the ice bucket was dirty and sticky. Also, to manage electricity/ power, you have to insert key in a key box by the door. So if we wanted to watch TV, all the lights had to be on. To turn lights off, had to remove key from box. Which turned off all other power. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Was a clean room and air conditioning was cold

Right downtown. Many walkable places to eat, see, the ocean, etc.

I want to share the great hospitality we received from Yogi! He truly went out of his way in helping us to our room and ensuring we had everything we needed. Thank you Hotel Mai for a very nice experience. You ROCK Yogi.
