Metro Plaza Hotel

Property is a short walk from Union Station with Amtrak, Metro A & D lines, LAX Flyaway bus, and the Dodger Shuttle all available. No food is on site. However, a great taco shop is next door and for breakfast (or lunch) Phillipe is just down the block. Nearby Olivera Street is still a thing if you want to do something a little touristy. A lot of LA can be explored from here. Property was clean but otherwise in need of some serious refurbishment.

The location ... . Mins walk to Union Station. Easy walk to Olivera market and downtown sites. Also some restaurants close by. The security guy was friendly and helpful. Shower was ok. Ice machine worked. Coffee and tea available in reception. They did hold my case for me for the day. TV wasn't working all night, which was apparently the cable companies fault and then when it was back in the morning the remote was not working properly (batteries held in by gaffa tape). The bed was like a wooden board and the pillows were like fabric was rolled up and stuffed into a bag. There was a fridge but not even a single cup in the room. As it was my last night in LA I just wanted to chill and watch some TV before my flight, but thats hard with no TV and most uncomfortable bed I have encountered in 5 months in the USA and more that 50 hotels! It's convenient for one night but be prepared for anything!

There was nothing I liked other than it was cheap. There was no parking so I had to pay to park overnight somewhere else, it is right in the middle of the hood the picture makes it look like the area is nicer then it really is, the beds were really uncomfortable.

Close to Union Station Very far away from tourist attractions.

Not far from train station/ very much in need of updates, was clean just well worn and dated.

The position in the city was close to the LA downtown center. The price for 4 people and 2 nights was fair There was no breakfast option

Obvious mold on carpet from leaking radiator. Needs complete remodeling. Or tear down.

Run down and there was no lights in my room

The room was clean, and parking garage kept our truck safe for an excellent price for the area. Union station was across the street and got to take the Dodger Express for free. No traffic and hassle for the game. Will stay again.

Great place to stay overnight near LA Union Station, while waiting for an Amtrak connection the next day. Was able to get an early check-in and a late check-out. Restaurants were available nearby. Short walk from the station.

Not much to like. Horrible and dirty, old daggy carpets and amenities are very poor. It is a 2 star hotel but in very poor condition. Dirty and old, unclean

Close to union station, comfortable beds, very nice staff. The AC is too close to the bed. No chairs in the room, shower temperature is warm and not hot enough.

Very close to Transit Elevator took too long and pillows were too flat

Disappointing

The room was ok, I guess, but dated. There is sheetrock damage on the ceiling and the cockroaches are a concern. And the fact my door did not lock. Other than that, it's in a crappy area. Sirens blared outside quite often For me, it's real redeeming value was how close it is to LA Union station. I was able to walk there in a few minutes. And there weren't too many crazy people around. Would I stay there again?? Well, I am cheap and saving an Uber fee works for me. Just don't go out at night

Centralize in LA Carpets in hallway extremely filthy, no coffee maker in room, community coffee at front desk tasted old, and no condiments (sugar nor creamer).

The room I had was, as we say in Texas, ‘rode hard and put up wet’. It was worn. The window overlooked a dumpster surrounded by construction debris. I would guess the fleur di lis polyester bedspread was at least 30 yrs old. I could go on but the room fit my need to have a cheap place to stay, close to union station, and clean enough. I actually think it is clean but the carpet, furniture, the lobby, the elevator are all aged and affected the feel of the place. Just don’t go expecting a Holiday Inn/Best Western style place, it is more retro and not in a good way. I shan’t stay there again.
