The elevator were slow and not all were working. Pool was smaller and more shallow than expected. Coffee shop was only open until noon instead of 2pm as advertised.

Can’t wait to go back
-
Amazing rooftop - highly suggest getting a room with a balcony. There they are doing everything right.

Overall clean hotel but didn’t love it
-
Great and modern Hotel that still retains an older charm!
-
Very interesting place to stay - beautifully renovated old hotel.
-
Nice, clean location. Walking distance to the Orpheum theater which is what I was there for. Would stay here again.

This hotel is great. The interiors are really well designed and comfortable. Really cleanly kept and the managers and staff were brilliant. I prefer it to the old Ace hotel. There were only a few things in that downtown is now in so much disrepair post- pandemic I didn’t realize until I got there and and it just doesn’t feel safe - esp at night if walking from parking. I walk around NYC at night and it’s fine. These blocks are just empty and full of homeless people. Not meaning of any harm but it’s hard to feel ok. The hotel amenities I think were closed, the bar on the top deck and on the ground floor remained closed, which was annoying, but otherwise good stay.

It’s right in the heart of downtown LA, located close to a lot of downtown destinations.

Considering this is an older property in downtown LosAngeles it was well maintained. The room was nice but the bathroom was a nightmare. As someone who loves a hot shower the water only ever got lukewarm and that was after having to mess with the knob and letting the water run for 20+ minutes and the tile in the shower was disgusting and broken. The sliding door to close the restroom did not give adequate privacy as we were sharing the room with other people. There is a full length mirror right outside of the door that you can see anyone that’s sitting on the toilet. We also had to call the front desk because the thermostat in the room during the day wouldn’t allow us to turn the ac any lower then 78 degrees and with it being so hot outside already we felt like we were cooking inside of our hotel room. The response we were given from the front was basically since it being so hot outside the ac was trying to acclimate and we just needed wait and deal with it. The beds were comfortable and the room was cute but the basics like hot water and a cold room were not there.

What went right: - Location was great for my needs - bed was comfortable - Jonathan and the staff at the front desk were great and tried to assist as best they could - Nice gym and rooftop pool What went wrong: - No hot water, tepid at best - No water pressure, a rapid drip would be a fair description. - Air conditioning struggled to keep up first day. What the staff did to try to help: - Shower head was changed, but didn't Improve - Air Conditioning was adjusted, big Improvement. - Hot water was called out for service, but just never got better - Gave me a free later check out. It's an old building. I get It, but no hot water and no pressure I a NO for me going forward. I'll try other hotels In the area.

I love how updated it was while still looking antique. The coffee and face masks in the room made the trip more relaxing along with a refreshing rain shower. Definitely plan on staying here again!
