Holiday Inn Express & Suites Louisville Downtown by IHG

Front desk at check in was great. Front desk at check out was too interested talking to someone in the back to help me. So I dropped my cards in the jar and left.

Room location. Cleanliness. Hotel location PARKING SHOULD NOT BE EXTRA FOR OUT OFTOWN GUESTS!! I worried about parking on the street. The Coffee maker didn't work. Pillows are not comfortable.

First impression… find a window cleaner, a pro, for the entrance door and glass panels… more light in the lobby. So first impressions were meh… luckily staff was pleasant, helpful and efficient… need to find a way to avoid people wandering in, non guests, to breakfast buffet, this is not unique to this hotel, a growing problem. Room and housekeeping were good.

The room and bed were very comfortable. The only thing that needs improvement is the breakfast food. The eggs were dry every day; the sausages didn't taste good. The juices were too watered down. One day the cereal tasted stale. The buffet comes with the room; however, you'd be better off eating elsewhere. On the positive side, the staff is fantastic, all friendly and very professional; the property is well maintained and very clean. I recommend staying here if you want to be close to Whiskey Row (one block away) and the stadiums- very convenient location.

Within walking distance of many distilleries, museums and restaurants. Rooms were clean and staff very helpful. Breakfast was good but no rotation.

Hotel was walking distance to whiskey row. Hotel was clean and quiet. Easy check in/check out. Other than walking to whiskey row there are no other food options that are walkable.

We had a corner room with a great view from the big windows. The location was very safe and convenient to the sites we were seeing. The Louisville Slugger Factory tour, the Mohammad Ali museum and the whiskey distillery tours. A cute easy to navigate city. And we loved the Derby museum and Churchill Downs tour.

This place charges for the first night stay even if you cancel. Watch out. They're unreliable and unfair. I thought I was booking a lower rate through Expedia but they did the same thing. I got stuck with a $264 charge for a dumpy hotel I ended up not staying at. WATCH OUT.

Walking to Louisville Slugger and Muhammad Ali museum .Safe area to walk. Nice restaurants. Nice breakfast

If available, I would definately stay here again.

It was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. This is the first time I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in years but I would definitely stay here again.
