I booked a room with a balcony. It wasn’t until we arrived they told us their balconies are all non functional. That was the main reason I booked there.

Very old building and poorly maintained. Also, no free breakfast. $11 for a cup of coffee in Texas is ridiculous.

The bathroom was so dirty with grim in the corners of the floor. The sofa chair had stains as well as the carpet I felt so dirty in that room I broke out in hives.

Marian was awesome. She checked us in and was there the next day to check us out. Very friendly.

My rate was supposed to include breakfast, but we didn’t get free breakfast. The front desk kept pointing over to the restaurant to get coffee, but when you go to get coffee, they say the espresso machine is down. Elevator was broken on the first day… They didn’t offer luggage assistance, although they did try to get us blocked on lower floors.

The staff is amazing, But the hotel needs major renovations. The elevator was broken on our stay. The rooms were overly sprayed with deoderizer to mask the smell of old cigarettes.

There 1 employee working at the time of check in. She was working the bar, serving 2 other customers. We waited at the front counter 15 minutes before she walked over to check us in. I understand she was the only one working however, she should have acknowledged us to let us know we were not being ignored. I kept looking for a bell or someone to come out from behind the wall. Bathroom was dirty, including the floor. Beds were worn and not comfortable. We will not be staying here again.

Loved the staff and the suite was great. The only issue is that this property needs major renovation. I believe they are already preparing for that according to the staff we spoke to. Otherwise, it was great!

Location was only good thing I can report as this was expensive and very disappointing with our usual stays with Marriott. Breakfast had to be ordered and they were out of almost everything on the menu. Fridge in room did not work and no microwave. Never saw a maid the whole time we stayed and initially couldn't even find my reservation. If I hadn't had my confirmation number then not sure we would have had a room even though my card had already been fully charged!
