We made a booking through Expedia for a Suite room, and was confirmed through email. We drove straight to Lubbock, Texas after work. Arrived tired at 9PM. After checking in we had to go down to front desk because our key card wasn't working. Went back down the second time because they gave us a standard room vs suite room. Front desk said that it was the room Expedia booked for us and since our booking was made through a third party, they can not do anything about it. We're too tired to pursue the matter further. We went straight to bed. Around past 10 PM we got spooked by people opening and entered our room. We jumped out of bed to check but they were gone. We were too exhausted and plan to make a complain in the morning. We locked our door. At around 11:30 PM a loud knock on the door woke us up. We both jumped out of bed to answer the door and there was a tall man saying " You are not suppose to be in this room". "Did you pay for this room". He asked for our name and ID. We felt like criminals being interrogated. They finally realized that they actually downgraded our room. After 20 to 30 minutes we did not hear from them, and so we called the front desk for update. They finally apologized and offered to transfer us to a Suite room at almost 1 AM. And informed us that they can not adjust the room rate because they already processed our bill. After all that chaotic experience we had difficulty falling back to sleep. Woke up late with a headache.

All good.

Bathroom floods when I showered and a/c had a hard time cooling the room

Staff were definitely very helpful. The maintenance was not the greatest on the property. Plumbing is super slow to drain, pieces peeling off the stair treads in the hallway carpet had stains on it. The bed was comfortable. The TV is definitely outdated.

Stayed one night. The check I'm process was quick and buffet breakfast was amazing. The room was very warm at night, didn't have hand soap, and beds possibly had bugs.

Staff was kind at check in. Property is older, but has been well taken care of. The air conditioner in the room was old and had a weird smell. Breakfast was very good. All ice machines seemed to be out of order or just turned off. I asked at the front desk and they sent me the restaurant, but the ice machine waa empty. All staff I encountered was friendly. Overall, it was fine. I'd stay there again.

We enjoyed the stay, the food at the restaurant, the employees were very helpful, they went out of their way to accommodate us. Thank you

Also the stairwell doors to the outside did not lock upon closing them, what good are secured side entry doors if the stairwell doors didn’t lock.

Staff was very friendly and very helpful

Staff are helpful and friendly. Everything was clean and in order. We had a great stay and will stay here every time we are in Lubbock.

The hotel is older than I had thought. It was clean but needs some cosmetic. The restaurant food and bar service was the highlight

The photos on Expedia make this look like a shiny modern hotel but it’s really not. Our room, and the hotel in general, was pretty run down in places (see photos). The ice maker was broken on several floors and we had to wait to check in because another guest didn’t have air conditioning in his room. That said, the beds were comfortable, our A/C worked okay, and the breakfast buffet was fine.

My friend & I felt (both of us Christians) that having the huge Ten Commandments posted on a stone slab at the front door of the lobby seems exclusionary to other religious groups. We are not interested in doing business in the future with anyone operating a business to efforts to separate groups of people rather than welcoming diversity & being people together. When your only ‘people of color’ are the ones cleaning up after you-that is not being inclusive, & is clearly the point you want to make: ‘white privilege is honored & practiced here.’ If I were a Tech Red Raider, I’d be embarrassed to have my logo here for these reasons.
