They clearly keep a full house due to their close proximity to the football stadium and Tech campus, but they really need to give this property a major spruce-up.
-
Very close to Texas Tech which was perfect for our tour. Also, everything was very clean, staff was super friendly. Will keep this hotel in mind for the next visit The pillows in our room were too flat and a little small.

Good attention to detail, front desk was great.

The staff was great! Food was left outside in the hall for a couple of days near us. The construction in the lobby was a little loud and dusty.

Due to a simple date entry mistake, the reservation was made for June 19–20 instead of July 19–20. The error was discovered shortly after payment was processed, and I immediately attempted to correct it well before any actual travel date. Despite contacting both Expedia and the hotel right away, the hotel refused any adjustment or exception and repeatedly cited “policy,” even though this was clearly not a cancellation but an obvious booking error. Expedia did contact the hotel on my behalf, but no meaningful resolution was achieved. The reservation was ultimately treated as a no-show once the original dates passed, even though the issue was flagged immediately and the stay was still intended for a future date. I understand policies exist, but there was absolutely no flexibility or willingness to address a clear and immediate input error. I paid full amount for wrong date. The response felt rigid and unhelpful, and the outcome resulted in a full loss despite prompt action to correct the mistake. I expected more support in resolving what should have been a simple date correction.

Loved it and everyone was so friendly.

Floor 15!!!! You need a key to have the elevator allow you access to that floor. You would expect the room to be clean, smell good and not have any missing toiletries when the room service crew cleans your room. The beds aren’t comfortable, pillows are worn out and the sheets have an old type of scent. The shower curtain was dirty, one part looked like a bloody mucus was left. The shower floor mat was removed and never replaced when room service cleaned the room. One toilet paper for a room that sleeps 4 guests!!!!! No microwave in a room that has a mini fridge??? The view was beautiful and the location is perfect, but I rather drive a bit further and stay at a hotel that truly makes you feel you got what you paid for.

Everything was great in our 1 night there, although I would recommend cleaning out the Kuerig machine or replacing them. My husband went to brew a cup and he said it had mold in it

Bathroom could use clean sealant around tub. Headboard to both beds were worn and peeling. Electric connector in desk didn't work well. Although food was good. Service was slow during dinner time.
-
Nice location to UT.

We ordered room service for breakfast and the food was on time and good. I would recommend staying here. Best hotel close to campus

It was so much fun we are going back next weekend!!!

We have stayed here for years and always loved it until recently. The property is getting very dated and it appears they have no plans to update it. The price is too high for the accommodations.

Great hotel and very convenient to everything Texas Texh.

Overall, good experience. The restaurant is great. Wonderful food and service. That said: There is a need for improvement. Small details. We didn’t get enough towels or hand towels. Also, the bathroom is fatigued. Bathtub has been painted poorly and it’s peeling. Our room was below the standard for The Overton Hotel. The pillows are also past their prime. We like The Overton. We don’t dislike it. I mentioned two negatives , but those are objective details. Not necessarily a feeling.
