SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Lubbock Medical Center

Everything was fine

The room was overall clean except the microwave counter. Breakfast was the normal buffet and sufficient. Towels are thin, scratchy. Pool was out of service but looked like it needed a good paint job. Hotel is overall clean but old. Old elevator. Old carpeting.

Do not stay here! We took one look at the room and immediately asked for our money back. The moldy musty spell about knocked us over and won’t be back.

We’ve stayed twice recently. I didn’t realize the second trip was the same hotel. It is not clean. There were used Q-tips in the bathroom, they DID bring clean towels this time, tv didn’t work and the AC made a horrible noise. Thankful it worked, before the AC didn’t work, there was a drill still in the room sitting beside the unit and we had to be moved. Overall, I’m going to do my best to avoid this hotel. Front desk lady was very unfriendly, we didn’t see any other staff.

Disappointing

We were given 2 rooms on the first floor. Upon entering one of them I counted 5 live bugs within the first few minutes. There was a strong moldy smell and the ceiling was covered in water/mold stains. Once I saw the bug on the wall above the bed I was done. Thankfully they had a room on the 3rd floor. That one didn’t smell quite as bad and there were no bugs. However the light above the bathroom mirror didn’t work so we just had the overhead light. How hard is it to change a lightbulb? The other 1st floor room was also smelly and there was 1 live bug on the wall that they saw. They were braver than us and stayed in the room. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

I didn’t stay there because the room was infested with ticks. I hope the star I rated this place means it really sucked

Cleaness I loved my stay

Location, free parking & staff. No tea/coffee maker in room, told all available in hotel lobby. Being a senior who wants to go down to lobby early morning, late evening to get a hot drink when most hotels/motels have them in your room, bit mean and penny pinching.

Desayuno delicioso. El personal es muy amable.

Exceptional

The staff especially the gentleman.I guess he is the owner. It was a nice stay. The gentleman owner was exceptionally good. It was abit far from my conference venue but can't complain.

Not much to like The pool was dirty, there was cockroaches in the room and mildew the floor was damp

Location had the right amount of restaurants and a nearby park. The price on Friday night was a bit high.

Staff pleasant at check in and check out, room was spacious and clean w comfy beds, and plenty of towels. Breakfast was decent. Typical eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles and biscuits and gravy. They have multiple pools although we didn’t use them, they looked nice. The only issues we personally had was the funky smell in the lobby and in the room and also in rooms 151 and 152, there’s a door going outside that people use all hours of the night and it slams shut every time! Overall though, it was a pleasant stay.

Great location

The hotel is clean the room was clean just in the bathroom we had a small issue with a couple of bugs that we killed other than that all was good
