Microtel Inn by Wyndham Matthews/Charlotte

We stayed 3 nights, it was comfortable, the staff friendly and nice, interesting, the breakfast provided was good (cereals/milk/bagels/waffle maker/danish/apples/yogurt, and coffees, tea and juices.) The beds were good, etc. Mini fridge nice and cold and the little freezer within actually froze bottles of water. We needed a handicap accessible room, with roll-in shower, and this shower, although dated and with a shower head in the middle of the shower (rather than on the end) worked OK for us. The wifi power was decent, and we were always able to find handicap parking close to the entrance. Good value, nothing posh, but we really appreciated the breakfast!

This is a great place if you are just looking for a place to crash. A well-maintained older motel with a very nice staff. The free breakfast is lackluster, but the OJ and the yogurt saved a less than pleasant comment. Luckily there are numerous outside choices to go too. I will stay there again.

I didn’t like anything. This place was absolutely disgusting. I walked in thinking good. Looking around thinking eh it’s just a weekend. Got to my room and said absolutely not and got my refund immediately. Not taken care of, extremely out dated, filthy and had terrible mildew odor that would smack you in the face as soon as you opened the door. Everything. I did not like a single thing about this hotel. Especially the price for what the place was.

Location was good The price was OK But not much more The desk manager (Jack) was not friendly, Jack lied about the occupancy. He was very lazy to help with simple requests like he was doing me a favor. Never greeted me as came in or departure of hotel. Jack only played games at the counter. The room sold to me was a deluxe Queen. It was not deluxe at all. Only one towel. No seating for the guest. Only one chair for double occupancy. The bathroom was not cleaned and the trash can was full from the past guest. I booked for 3 days but departed a day early. It was a very loud room right by the stairway door Slamming late and early The TV was so small it was hard to see. Only high power overhead lights. This room was bare minimum Very uncomfortable.

Staff was friendly and room was clean. Unfortunately the blow dryer did not work.

Front desk staff at check in was very nice. There was a mistake in our booking, a single room with 2 queen beds, so they offered us 2 separate rooms. Both rooms were dirty, stains on the carpet and window seat cushion, burn marks in multiple places, and cracks and water stains on the ceilings. In the middle of the night, the celling started leaking in one of the rooms and soaked the bed. They said they had no other room to offer us. We were scheduled to stay a second night, which of course we didn't. Would not recommend this hotel stay all!

Close to the destination for the weekend. Staff made us feel uncomfortable through the conversation he was trying to have with my teen daughter and husband. Needs updating and repairs to some common areas: hallways, doors, etc.
