Motel 6 Memphis, TN - East

I know it's a motel 6, and we weren't looking for anything fancy, just a basic place to sleep and maybe shower. We booked a king nonsmoking room, and the room instead had 2 double beds and smelled of smoke - which, no big deal, we can make it work. However... there was a roach party happening in the fridge, and the bathroom had quite a bit of mold. Because we wanted to store some items in the fridge, we asked for a different room. The second room unfortunately, had a non working A/C, and with 80-90 degree weather outside, that wasn't an option. So we took the key card back to the front desked and politely asked for a refund. Tge attendant indicated we needed to ask expedia for a refund since that is who we booked with. We then stayed at a more expensive place, and were also unable to get a refund from either expedia or motel 6.

Property and stay were ok

Nothing was good, the first room gave us had bugs everywhere and then the second room we went to had black mold in the bathroom. The staff was glaring at us and kept shooing me away like i was a dog

The room was very moldy, and the staff was very hard to understand and rude. The room was so hot because there is no central air conditioning. Just a janky old window ac that hasn’t been replaced in decades. Do I have to mention mold again? The pool looked like it was full of dirty water. Towels were dirty, sheets had stains. Not a single good thing to say about this place.

The rooms need to be upgraded. Toilet seat was broken. Headboards are rusty. Tub was dirty. I checked out one day early cause i wasn’t starting there another day

The young lady that checked me in was very nice but the man that was there later was very rude. I’m a travel nurse that works nights, so I sleep days and requested to not be disturbed during the day; still every day housekeeping woke me up, despite my requests and being promised it wouldn’t happen.

Worst place I've ever stayed.

I had an overall pleasant stay.

Instead, we walked into a nightmare. The room was filthy. There were stains everywhere, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in who knows how long, and there were roaches. We immediately went to the front desk to ask for another room, but instead of apologizing or trying to make things right, we had to argue just to be moved. When we finally got a second room, it was hardly an improvement. There were still roaches, and the lights didn’t even work properly. By then it was the middle of the night, we’d been awake for hours, and we were too exhausted to keep fighting over something as basic as a clean, functioning hotel room. I ended up sleeping in my car because it genuinely felt cleaner and safer than either room Motel 6 offered us. This wasn’t an inconvenience. It was a complete failure in cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. No guest should have to argue for a habitable room after paying for one, especially at 3:00 in the morning after a long day on the road. Save yourself the frustration, the lost sleep, and the disappointment. Stay somewhere else.

The room was very dusty

There is trash going up the stairs to the second landing. Railing on second floor stairs was broke. The whole place was horrid and disgusting. I have video proof for the ones. Would like to see it.

There was mold in the bathroom behind the toilet and the ceiling. The floors were so gross my feet were black and sandy. When I arrived I was just passing through while moving across country and the lady saw the uhaul and said " you aren't bringing in a lot of stuff are you " as if my 11 am check out allows to me bring a lot of stuff in. And either way I'm paying for the room for the night. Priced way to high for how nasty it was. The least you could do is let me have what I want in my room for the night I paid for.

Would like to give this property a minus score. Room entry door had a 2 inch gap over the threshold, room was dirty, pool was green, and washer broken. Photos used to advertise this property are not representative of what you get; a dark, dirty, dingy room. Cancelled our other reservations after seeing the condition room was in. STAY AWAY FROM MOTEL6!!!
