Best Western Plus Riviera

The first clue was the earplugs they provided in the room. Needed when the cars and train goes by. Needed when people are walking in the room or balcony above you. Owners have done their best to provide a clean room. However, they aren't able to control the water pressure in the shower that only lets the water project about 9 inches; they can't control the poor construction quality; they can't control the traffic noise. This is a renovated motel with rooms not enclosed in a hallway. My stay was interrupted by a number of teenage soccer players and a few young children who ran and hollered until 10 pm and then began again at 7 a.m. The motel is close to Stanford Hospital.

The shower drain in my room was not draining. I took (5) showers with water up to my ankles. Maintenance came and essentially just poured draino in the shower and it did not help. They were sold out and could not move my room and did not any type of compensation.

Nothing. If the property had been marketed “as a cheap motel if nothing else was available and you are happy to pay way over the odds, and regret it forever” then I would have been OK. But it wasn’t. The earplugs on the bedside cabinets were hilarious, but handy.

2.the towel rack in the bathroom needs repair; it looks like someone used it to hold while getting in/out of the tub/shower. Perhaps a safety bar is in order? 3. the room was very clean 4. the breakfast was very good

Great service and location Location

The workout room was small but very adequate. A peloton bike was available which was great for me. The breakfast was good with both hot and cold foods. I would like to especially complement Laura who worked at the front reception and wore many hats. She was very helpful in many different ways.

The rooms were spacious and modern. The shower had amazing pressure. Looking forward to booking again.

The property was run down, pool dirty and full of leaves, air conditioner was overheated and broken in our room. The staff offered to reset our air conditioner but it was obviously broken, we had to move our son out of the room after he had fallen asleep because they couldn’t figure it out, and we were given a comparable room. The staff said we would receive a refund but Expedia notified me that they had refused to offer a refund. Disappointing out of town family stay, will not stay here again for a Stanford game.

It was noisy (thin walls) but good otherwise.

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was professional and courteous. Breakfast was appreciated. Parking spaces a little tight for larger vehicles.

The beds were very comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep. The staff was also very friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay, always willing to assist whenever we needed anything. The main drawback was the bathroom design. The fixed shower head was quite uncomfortable and impractical to use. In addition, there was no floor drain in the area around the shower and washbasin, so any water that splashed onto the floor had nowhere to drain, which was rather inconvenient.

We had a small issue with our room but it was quickly resolved by Juan and Laura, and that was very appreciated 👏👍
