Hotel Ocean

Before booking this hotel please think because the hotel is very dirty. In the room itself or worse the floor is dirty. The bed is like the sheets were not changed after the previous guest, so think before going there. Do you want to live in the middle of dirt?

Beautiful place

Close to the beach. Good location overall. The staff is exceptional! Everyone was super nice and helpful. The music from the restaurant downstairs is obnoxiously loud all day long. I understand a loud and alive atmosphere in the evening/ night time when people are having fun and enjoying it, and everyone is more in a party mood, but it starts usually around 8:15 every morning and it’s ridiculously loud all day long, until 1-2am. We asked the hotel about that and they spoke to the restaurant manager which seemed to work for only one day and then the volume went back to being unnecessarily loud again right next day. I didn’t mind the hotel, it’s a bit old but it’s cute, but because of the annoying non-stop banging music I would not choose it again. Also, all the windows are sealed/ bolted and you cannot crack open a single one of them if you wanted some outside fresh air and not the a/c air necessarily all the time.

Bed was comfortable Extremely loud repetitive Spanish music until 2am, then screaming and laughing workers outside our window till 5am. No doors on the bathroom which is completely unacceptable. I slept for an hour with ear plugs in... Pillows were terrible

The location was great! And the room was amazing particularly the bathroom which are important to me was awesome. I love the fact that the shower carries a hand held shower head and not a standard one. The water temperature in the shower was not adjusted right. For example we constantly had to keep graduating the handle to adjust the water temperature to avoid getting burned or with very cold water that would be felt instantly. The same thing was happening at the sinks of the bathroom.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I would definitely stay there again.

The location and the views were fantastic! It's literally right across from the beach. The rooms are so big and comfortable beds! Overall its a great place to stay to experience the middle of the action of south beach! The check in was extremely difficult as the hotel was not accessible except for a back alley and when you contacted them for questions about valet/parking you only got to talk to a BOT who gave incorrect information. I actually had to park on the street for an hour to wait for a nearby garage to have availability. They could also be a little more accommodating about helping you take your luggage to and from the room. They only had 1 person at the front desk and so you need to wait for her to be able to come to the back alley to help. It was not a great experience.

Thank you to the receptionist who help us get a room faster than usual. More access to taxi.

Good location under normal circumstances Terrible for loading and unloading. This is a South Beach location and the city has blocked all traffic and access anywhere close to the hotel, hence one cannot unload near the hotel. Our luggage had to be dragged 3 blocks to check-in. Most inconvenient! The restaurant was slow, overpriced and disorganized. Tourist trap!! Not worth it, Stay somewhere else

Everything was great, be back next year!

The only thing I didn’t like was that our TV didn’t work until the day before we were departing

Location Front desk guy at check in was very nice. The other women at front desk during our stay seemed bothered the whole time There was hair in the shower on the wall and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned at all. When I told them they didn’t care or offer to fix

After showering on the last day I noticed a bite on my tummy and I dismissed it because obviously I was roaming south beach and I’m sure bugs were out but I discovered 5 additional bites in odd places so that I’m 75% sure they’re bedbug bites so here’s to all of the clothes I had to throw out just in case. The staff was nice enough though. They were helpful with my key card that didn’t work half of the time. All in all. Would absolutely not stay there again.

Walking distance to the beach and most restaurants on Ocean Drive. Many things in the room were a bit outdated and need maintenance or cleaned up (curtains, tv, locks to doors, elevator slow) Felt that if the room were a bit modernized it wouldn’t have felt so dusty and older.

Location! Public parking building 300ft away!!
