Baymont by Wyndham Monterey Park

Conveniently located right off the freeway and close to Costco. There were a few things that I did not like, but the major issue where the bugs. We were in room 233 and had an extreme fly problem. No windows or doors were left open and they just kept coming. I killed a roach in the bathtub. When I called to get relocated to another room, I was told they were aware about the issues. I couldn't believe that they would rent that room out in that condition. They moved us to another room, but I could not stop thinking about the bug problems and possibly bringing unwanted critters back home with us. It definitely took away from wanting to utilize the free breakfast buffet.

The property looked to be updated recently but not comprehensively. In 2026, streaming apps should be standard and the TV was relatively small, think 32". The bed was not particulary comfortable. For those driving trucks or larger suvs, parking height of the garage may be an issue, it was for my full size stock height truck as roof racks wouldn't clear the underground lot. Front desk was helpful and we didn't use any other amenity.

Breakfast was good

I stayed at Baymont for 3 nights. The bed is too soft to me that I ended up having upper back pain which I didn’t have before since night 1. Needless to say, I couldn’t get a good sleep in the next 2 nights. On day 2 morning when I was washing up, I saw a cockroach on the bathroom door knob. I screamed and my husband came in to hit it on the bathroom door. We notified the front desk person and he said he would ask a staff to come clean up the “dead body” and check around to make sure no more cockroaches. We went out and came back at night and the dead body was still sticking on the bathroom door. My experience at this hotel was poor and I would not come back.

I like everything except location. Location

1st, there was supposd to be a pool but I told by the front desk once I arrived that the pool had been shut down forever. 2nd, I reserved and paid in full for my room which was not supposed to have a carpet as the pictures showed but I got a room with carpet. 3rd, The tub creeked and pooled water after showering 4th, No microwave in my room so I had to use the community microwave in the lobby to warm up my food that I purchased. 5th, Complimentary Breakfast had to be eaten in the dinning room. I couldn't eat in my room. There were dinning room staff monitors that guarded the door so you couldn't take food out. 6th, My room was on the 1st floor and it smelled like urine. I thought it was because someone before me had a pet and their pet urinated on the carpet. The urine smell was coming from the AC unit. I asked to be moved to another room but they had nothing else available. I spoke to the manager of the hotel and was told I would be compensated and to this day have not received any kind of compensation.

What I did not like was that there was no microwave. Also, breakfast was in the dining room only. Other hotels are not this strict. My wife is disabled, because of this circumstance they allowed me to take some food up to my room.

Free parking

The stay was ok. Breakfast was fine. With a bit of training the Staff could have been helpful and courteous.. The hot tub and gym was not working during our stay..

Very clean, location is close to everything, no more than 30 minutes away. Indoor parking lot.

NO COMPLAINTS...

The fact that it was a good value for the money. We low our expectations and didn’t disappointed. They did change the shower curtain and wash it so that was a bonus for me The fact it was far away from the center. Overall not a bad stay at all. They cleaned the room very late compared to every hotel I’ve been in so every time they cleaned the other rooms we already came back so our room hasn’t been cleaned at all

My room 105 to close to emloyee office making so much noise. When you sleep sound like some one will come in the room.

Exceptional

Where to start. How about getting woken up 3 nights in a row because they have tweakers staying there. I went to the front desk each night and the hotels solution was “for me to move rooms” I was staying in the hotel because I had an important class at 7 AM. Terrible.
