The rooms were okay. The building for sure needs a upgrade as with the rooms. Our stand in the middle was leaning and they had butchered it to make it stay up.

This location was being renovated during our stay. The first room had some issues as far as pealing paint and possible black mold above one of the windows. The front desk was very accommodating as we got moved to another room. Much better room and a wonderful stay.

Friendly staff

My room was supposed to be 300 square feet with a couch but it was not. I only got a bed and bathroom. If I stayed again, I would pay more attention to the room selection.

Nothing Extremely rude staff and homeless people begging for money
-
Nothing When we first walked in there was trash overflowing all trash cans, there was a homeless man laying down in the entrance. The hallways smelled like urine and marijuana. The room was not clean. Floors looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. There was a puddle of water in the restroom. The bathtub looked dirty as well. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else to stay.

This hotel was NOT a 4 star hotel. The hotel is currently under renovation so the conditions were at best a 2 star hotel. The curtains in the rooms were tore so the receptionist changed our room because the 1st room had tore curtains and hair on the bed

The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding activities. They were also very accommodating with all of my request. Especially providing a refrigerator for my room. I was especially impressed when I checked out that the receptionist who checked me in was also the same receptionist who checked me out new my name. Very impressive considering that I'm sure that there were many more guests who checked in after me on Friday. There wasn't too much not to like. With the exception of the construction work that took up some of the parking spaces on the property. It wasn't until my last night of stay that I found out that there was an underground parking garage.

I have always thought of Double Tree as an upscale, nice place to stay. This property was in disrepair and for the price, I know we could’ve had a better experience somewhere else. They put us in an ADA room, which we did not request or need. I hope we weren’t taking it away from someone who did need it. The walk-in shower flooded the rest of the bathroom every time we used it. The TVs in the sitting area and bedroom were both broken. A very nice maintenance person brought us a new one but it didn’t work either. There was a dumpster outside our first floor window, blocking any other view we may have had in the sitting room. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were just flat - not very comfortable at all. My husband found a cockroach in the room and flushed it. We know when you see one there are many so that was not cool. The lounge downstairs where you walk through to get to the scary parking garage had a very strong, chemical smell. Really, the nicest part of the whole stay was the people. The front desk, maintenance and restaurant staff were all wonderful. The building itself needs a good update. I do t think we will stay there again, which is a shame because the location was perfect.

They required a card for incidentals - I didn't think they were supposed to. Some of the lights in the room didn't work. other than that, it was fine.
