Kinda run down

We chose this hotel based on it's association with the Hilton group and it's high rating on the Hotels.com website, so I expected it would meet a certain standard. The room smelled of wet dog and smoking smells when we checked in about 5:30 PM. I went back to the desk and asked to change the room. They were completely full so could not, which is fair enough. The desk agent gave me a bottle of deodorant spray. I said that would not work and if they truly could not change the room, I offered that rather than have a certain unpleasant stay and them have unhappy guests, it would be better for us to leave the hotel and try to find other accommodations. The agent said he was not authorized to do that. I asked if we could speak to the manager. He said the manager was off duty and could not be disturbed. This was about 6:00 PM. I said I was not satisfied with this response. He then blamed me for not checking the room before checking in (Who does that!), waiting about 30 minutes while we discussed whether we could live with the smell, and said it was our fault for not seeing that the hotel is pet friendly and we should expect it to smell. He said there was nothing more he could do, end of conversation. I'll also be contacting the Hilton group.

The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, a small swimming pool, and is both family and pet friendly. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. While these amenities may appeal to many travelers, this hotel wasn’t the best fit for us. There was frequent activity from children and pets, and the hallways were dimly lit. The biggest disappointment was the pool area. Although there were two large garbage cans available, many guests did not clean up after themselves. Wet towels, empty water bottles, potato chip crumbs, and even grapes were left around the pool instead of being thrown away. There was also a severe rainstorm on the night of July 4 into the early morning of July 5. Since the storm had been widely forecast, I believe the pool umbrellas should have been closed beforehand and the pool covered or inspected afterward. The next day, the pool water was cloudy and filled with bugs, making it less inviting to use. Overall, Spark by Hilton is a good option for travelers looking for an affordable, family and pet friendly hotel in a convenient location. While we appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel, the friendly staff, the busy atmosphere and the condition of the pool area during our visit made it less enjoyable for our personal preferences.

Try the downtown area,it's about 10 minutes drive and worth it

Clean pet-friendly hotel with friendly staff and a nice pool. Lots of free parking and a good location. The only downside is that it is a clearly older building, so we could hear every footstep above us all day/night, which is challenging for light sleepers. Just ask for a 2nd floor room and you'll be fine :)

Tired, musty, and dark hallways and rooms. Needs a makeover.

The hotel was on the expensive side, but I appreciated that complimentary coffee was available 24 hours a day and that parking was included in the room rate. My room was spacious and comfortable overall. One issue I noticed was that the mattress seemed uneven, with one side higher than the other. In my opinion, it may be time for it to be replaced. The breakfast was adequate, but the selection was somewhat limited. There was no yogurt available, and the only egg option was hard-boiled eggs; scrambled eggs would have been a nice addition. Overall, my stay was pleasant.

Clean, new, great pool and good free breakfast

Cost efficient and comfort hotel. Has no gym but outdoor pool. Only one elevator but the layout is very stretched. So your room can be very far from the elevator. Interior can be more updated - bathroom was outdated. Overall satisfied though.

The location was convenient and staff was helpful and friendly

Excellent desk staff, cleaning staff does a wonderful job, quiet and great beds. Breakfast was sufficient.

Check in was simple and the property was very clean. The support staff were very helpful and the building was quiet.

It was ok, room was fine, hallways smell, no fitness center, breakfast is a bagel bar every day.

Fantastic stay, ladies at the front desk were very kind and helpful! Gave us a map of the area and some recommendations for shops and restaurants! Room was very comfortable and clean, no complaints whatsoever! Thank you!

Clean, correctly working bathroom fixtures, working TV, correctly working A/C, free parking, free breakfast

Hotel staff and amenities made our vacation to Mystic wonderful! My wife and I loved reading around the pool after breakfast while soaking in the sun. The included breakfast was filling with a reasonable selection of bagels and cereal. The hotel itself is a great location for checking out Old Mistick village and a very easy drive to downtown Mystic. We will be staying here again during our next trip!

Clean enough but felt a wee bit tired. Breakfast again functional but only apples & oranges for fresh items

We were on first floor and couldn’t sleep. The construction of the hotel is so poor that even with someone walking around above it was impossible to sleep. The front desk staff said all rooms are like that. The elevator buttons were dirty, the breakfast area looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in awhile (we were there early). I wouldn’t stay there again.

Everything was fine. I just don't like the places that don't allow you to use the fan constantly button other than that it was a nice place. Just a preference on my part.
