Quiet, immaculate, amazing repurposing of the old church elements and the stained glass windows are gorgeous. I nerded out on the design of the common areas. If you want to get away from the noise and crowds for your accommodations, this is the place.

Meh, pretty run down building with shoddy paint job. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was gorgeous and very clean. Everything was very well maintained. Finding a nice hotel with free parking (not valet) was sooo hard, but this place was IT. No staff on site, but they were incredibly kind via messaging. The whole hotel is beautiful and well worth it, plus the soap and robes were GREAT. My hair feels and smells amazing.

Great place to stay in Nashville, Unusual - but great experience in a hotel. Location was convenient to downtown honkytonks. Parking downtown is expensive - we found it convenient to park the car (for free) at the Russell and Uber back and forth.

Excellent hotel. Would highly recommend staying here for any trip to Nashville. Really nice property and very helpful support staff for the booking and the stay. I have a house in Nashville and will recommend this to all my friends and family when they visit.

Beautiful, peaceful hotel. Always look forward to staying here when visiting Nashville. By far my favorite hotel anywhere!

It was very close to the concert venue, so it was just a 4 minute walk. There was a Dyson hair dryer in the room. Loved it!! It was so quiet, you could hear every little step from the people in the room above us.

The Russell is a cute and unique hotel. I love the stained glass windows, they really stand out. Management was so communicative and welcoming, and made sure the check-in and checkout processes were super simple. The room had everything we needed and I loved the smart tv so I could stream my movies. I would definitely stay there again and have recommended this hotel to my friends!

Rooms are lovely and the parking is free and really convenient, we only stayed one night on our trip but would have loved to stay more.

I was notified my original room had an issue with my A/C the day of my reservation. The staff were very helpful and made sure the replacement rooms accommodated my needs. Such a cute building, I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Unique, comfortable, easy to get to, beautiful neighborhood, like their rooms for rooms business model. Be prepared to manage stairs.

This is a beautifully converted historic church in a lovely very old neighborhood in East Nashville. The staff were very helpful. The rooms are lovely. Everything was quite nice.

Ugh…. Great concept poorly executed.

Bonus! We help others while staying there. Besides the visual intrigue when booking, this is what hooked me. It's a cool mission and a great opportunity to help make a difference in a wonderful community. It's the first place I've visited that does that and now something I'm looking forward to doing on other trips.

I loved this location! It is so unique and beautiful! I look forward to staying again!

The Russell was an awesome stay. It's a very modern way of lodging - everything is text and code driven. There isn't a reception desk or bell-hop, which I found refreshing. The place is beautiful with the old church decor like stained glass and exposed rafters but with really modern rooms with every amenity you need. I found the staff (via text) to be super receptive and helpful - I had a slight issue out of the control of anyone and they handled it perfectly. I would definitely stay there again!

The rooms aren’t sound proof. We had noisy neighbors so there was a lot of disturbance. While the hotel’s philanthropic activities are commendable, the lack of sound proofing is not going to get us to return to the property.

Loved everything about our night at The Russell. The check-in was so simple and the building is beautiful! From the gorgeous stained glass windows and extremly stylish decor, to the very comfortable beds, dyson appliances and those robes! No expense was spared to make this a truly special place to stay. The location was also perfect for our July 4th visit as we were able to walk a short distance to East Park and had a perfect view of Nashville's spectacular fireworks display. We will definitely return to The Russell for our next trip to Nashville. Unfortunately the air conditioning unit in our original room was not working properly. When I called the property manager, she swiftly and seamlessly moved us to a new room. It did not negatively impact our stay at all.

Beautifully refurbished church! Nice theming particularly in light of Nashville location & the Ryman Auditorium nearby being considered the “mother church” of country music! Retro art deco style furnishings! Immaculately clean! Large comfortable beds & rooms! Great East Nashville location! Less than 1 mile from Broadway & downtown attractions! Nice amenities including coffee bar, snack machines, even a recording studio on site! Too cool! Nothing

The location is also very nice. It's on the east side, so it's a nice quiet area, but very close to all the great places on the east side, and not so far from the downtown, which you can get with a five-minute Uber/Lift. It has a big parking lot next to the building, which also makes it very adequate if you have a car. The management was very professional and responsive, which is great for a boutique hotel that doesn't have an actual employee in a lobby. We were able to communicate with them and solve a couple of issues very fast and easily. Definitely a highly recommended place. Will look to repeat a stay at the hotel very soon.
