Rutgers University Inn and Conference Center

The name "Rutgers University Inn" should hold this hotel to higher moral standards. And yet, that is not the case. Even Hilton showed flexibility when a drone overflight closed Heathrow Airport and guests could not arrive the day they booked their stay. Not Rutgers University Inn. When a fiber-optic cable rupture paralyzed all airports from Philadelphia to New York and a guest got stranded midway to Rutgers, the manager did not show any willingness to help. She refused to rebook the lost night and even cancelled the remaining portion of the stay. This reflects poorly, in my opinion, on Rutgers University. "University" should not be in this hotel's name. It is just an average, greedy commercial outfit trying to squeeze guests by charging for coffee in the lobby, requiring guests to vacate the room by 10:00 AM on check-out day, and maintaining a robotic, rigid approach to customer service. In this context, barely lukewarm water in the evening shower is just a minor extra inconvenience.

The whole trip was great! My only problem was not being able to check-in until 4PM and having to check-out by 10AM. Prices keep going and paying for an 18 hour stay that counts as a day, I find a little unsettling.

Like staying in a Motel 6. My guess is that there have been plenty of pets in the room. My allergies flared up. I wished I brought an air cleaner. After visiting Rutgers, I am now a fan of the NJ State University!

It was nice waking up to a herd of deer visible from our back window

We ordered food from our room and it was delivered quickly.

Superb

The rooms are a bit small but it was clean, comfortable and safe. Convenient location.

Couldn’t figure out how to control the air conditioning. Should’ve called but didn’t.

Exceptional

Clean / tidy/ convenient

Perfect for my needs.

Polite staff Small room size ,very ordinary facilities in the room

Location was nearby to the family event we were attending, nothing in walking distance unless you are visiting a student at Rutgers There was construction RIGHT outside our window starting at 0700 or earlier. Would have been nice to have a heads up about that - it certainly would’ve swayed our decision. The rooms are very dated and grungy however it did the job for a short one night stay.

Everything was clean and comfortable.

Exceptional

Loved the room. Affordable price. Mini fridge and microwave included which is a plus. Easy parking. Doesn’t get better than that!

Very poor

No Water Provided No Breakfast/Kitchen Free Parking

The room was immaculate. Very fresh and everything in perfect working order. The check-in staffer was very welcoming and efficient. The location is very easy to find, and the area is very safe and secure. We love staying at this property. Also enjoy dining at the Edison Diner not far from the property. We like everything about this property.

Room, facilities and surroundings Location is far from Brunswick station and no reliable public transport to and from hotel to station
