La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham New Haven

Location is close to lake.

Could not really walk to places other then IKEA from here. Elevator was out first day. Police were escorting somebody out when we came back to the hotel one day. First room had water leaking through the ceiling. There was construction going on in the hotel though so could have been a result of that. They quickly moved us to another room without any issues. And the new room actually had a nice view of the water. People working here are nice. I would not stay here again though unless just a stop off of 95 for a night before getting back on the road. Clearly I should have had a better understanding of location.

Thr breakfast.was ok but juice machine was broken. Enjoyed view of the water Bed was comfortable Not enough towels.had to get more. Had to ask for a TV channel guide, pen, and blanket. Had to.come down for these items. Staff wouldn't bring up. Shower Had mold in it Small bathroom Couch was filthy.

The location is pretty good, the staff did not know what they were doing, the entrance of the hotel was dirty, and don’t even ask about the sleeping arrangement – the mattress was horrible. It sunken right in the middle. I won’t ever stay here again.

Parking was convenient and the complimentary breakfast was a great treat

Exceptional

The price. The location. The room was a mess. The bathroom was horrible. The overall quality was so below standard

Location was convenient however everything else was substandard, including clogged sink, disconnected smoke detector and door that didn’t close. Staff seemed preoccupied and disinterested. Furthermore there wasn’t any Kleenex on the property. For the significant cost of the room, I expected higher quality.

My stay at the this hotel was bad. I was first given a room on the 3rd floor. The smell of smoke in the hallway was overwhelming, which carried into my room. I requested a switch to the 8th floor which was better but still not clean and smelled bad. The fire alarm went off at 7:30am and we evacuated to the parking lot but then there was no clear information about what happened or if we could go back inside. I booked two nights but left after the first one. First time I’ve ever done that. The staff was nice and helpful on the first night though!

Room was not clean. Toilet had stains (as soon as it was flushed they disappeared). The garbage had two empty soda cans in it a a few wrappers on the floor between the beds. One of the beds were “half made” like the blankets were just thrown on. Air conditioning didn’t work that well. The noise level in the middle of the night was ridiculous from multiple rooms despite complaining multiple times.

Relatively clean but noisy, and on arrival the rooms had been overbooked and two of us had to share a bed in order for them to be able to honor our reservation. The tweeker in the lobby was off-putting.

We were visiting Yale university for a campus tour and stayed here one night. While they are going through a renovation, I am not sure how much it will be improved. It is conveniently located, but being close to the highway and stores along that strip of the road made it incredibly loud and noisy even during the night. Our room was dirty and outdated. The bathroom was falling apart and tiles and parts of the door were cracked. We made it work because we were there so briefly, but I would not stay there again or recommend it.

The room was in very poor condition. Loose tiles in bathroom- shower curtain holder about to fall off. Bed fine . I asked for Kleenex the time we arrived - never had any over 2 days.

My friend and I booked our stay here and immediately felt unsafe. There was a couple across the hall from us who was having a domestic violence dispute involving yelling and throwing objects in their room. There were also individuals walking around the property late at night screaming. The room was also not very clean or appealing. We stayed here because our previous experience with La Quinta in other locations was satisfactory, but we were afraid to sleep at this location so we checked out a day early in our stay.

The view of the water was great In room 203, our sink leaked, we were okay waiting for someone to come fix it but then when I tried to use the microwave, all of the lights went out. When I called the front desk, the manager told us that he will give us another room but there would be an up charge, when I told him I wasn’t going to pay for something that was an inconvenience, he told me that I could go somewhere else if I wanted to. After I informed him that I would contact Wyndham’s corp. because I knew this brand and have stayed many times and that this property was nowhere close to the brand that I knew, then he offered to change my room with no additional cost. He was extremely rude and was saying something very rudely in Spanish. We had to deal with a sewage smell in the hallway for two days!

There is nothing good to be said about this hotel. It was not well maintained, the room I was given smelled moldy and the bed, drapes, couch, tv, and other furniture were worn, torn and in general disrepair. It didn't help that the whole hotel is in the middle of a noisy reconstruction, something that was not mentioned in the website or Expedia. On top of everything I was charged for parking my car next to the hotel, once again, something that was not mentioned in the website or Expedia. The staff did try their best to make up for all the problems of the hotel, but this is just a bad place to stay and I will never stay here or in any La Quinta Hotel again.

Location Dirty, noisy, felt uncomfortable

Television was not working to the room, water was dirty in the restroom, microwave was noisy, there was plenty of maintenance work throughout the stays.
