La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham New Haven

If it says "by Wyndham", beware. They are buying up worn out property and hoping their reputation will lure you in. Broken tile bathroom, non,,-functioning TV, $100 incidental fees... Loud property all night. And not the noise of the interstate going by. Never again.

I would not recommend staying at this property. The rooms were not clean. The hallways were hot. The service was slow. The entire atmosphere made me uneasy.

The staff was excellent very nice inviting knew their jobs but the property was terrible. There was a rubber glove over the smoke detector. Cigarette burns all over the bathroom small hairs all over the bathroom ceiling. The shower curtain rod was broken to the point that the shower curtain did not stay closed eventually just sunk to the bottom, the shades were falling off the wall. The chair was is terrible shape, I had traveled for about 24 hours without eating and had already ordered food while in the Uber so I decided to stay. I took pictures of everything in case I was charged for the damage which I wasn’t, like I said the staff was excellent.

I booked a stay at this hotel with my family from July 22 to July 27, but we had to cut our trip short due to appalling conditions and abusive staff behavior. *The Incident:On our third day, we returned from breakfast to find our room smelling heavily of cigarette smoke. The smoke was actively coming from the adjoining room through the connecting door. *Staff Abuse:I went to the front desk to politely ask for assistance or a room change. The receptionist told me someone would check it in 30 minutes. When I explained that I could not wait around with my young children in a smoke-filled room and asked to speak to a manager, the employee became furious. *Unprofessional Behavior:He completely ignored me, and started watching YouTube videos on his screen. After ignoring me for 7 minutes, he told me to get away from the desk and said we could check out if we are not happy. *Police Called:When I insisted on speaking with a manager, he threatened to call the police to force us out. I told him to go ahead since I did nothing wrong. He then called the police, falsely claiming a customer was causing trouble. *The Aftermath:Not wanting my children to witness a police situation, we checked out immediately.While the manager called to apologize and offer a new room, the damage was done. This place is unsafe, dirty, and the front desk staff is hostile. Avoid this hotel at all costs, especially if you have children!

The shower never got hot and the bathroom door lock was broken. Elevator is extremely small and slow. Great location, but will not stay here again.

The food out mattress was disgusting. We stayed in room 520. I ended up sleeping the bed with my mom because the mattress in the couch was so uncomfortable and it also had stains.

The room is clean but the blow dryer is broken, the mattress is old.

I called to let the mamagement know that my plane into Providenc was delaid and I would be late arriving. the front desk kept puting me hold (over twenty minutes) until I was finally tranfered to a Reservation office where I was again place on hold while she looked up my reservation. When she found it she told me she would place me on hold again while she contacted the front desk where I had already been place on hold, prior. In all aprtoximatly thirty minutes just to let someone know that I would be a late arrival,

When I checked in the employee asked for my driver's license to make a copy of it. She never gave it back to me, which I should have noticed but didn't. We checked out two days later and drove to Hartford where I noticed that I did not have my ID. I called the hotel and they confirmed that they had my ID. I had to drive back to New Haven to get it. When I asked the employee why no one called my to tell me they had my ID he tried to tell me that they did not have a contact number for me, which is not true. They have all my information all they have to do is look me up on their computer. So I give my ID to the lady at the front desk, she never gives it back, it remained on the copier. When the next person checked in they would make a copy of their ID and find my ID still on the copier. Instead of looking me up in their system and seeing that I just checked in and that I am in room 702, and calling up to the room and leaving a msg on the phone telling me to come down to the front desk and get my ID, the employee just tossed my ID into a drawer and forgot about me. No one apologized to me, they just tried to make excuses. When I went back and got my ID the employee pulled a tray out of the drawer with at lease twenty IDs in it, He took mine off the top, so this happens frequently at this hotel. Having employees who don't care and do the least amount possible is not the way to run a business. I will not stay in La Quinta again.

Great place, close to everything, check in wasn’t great, felt like I was bothering checking in.

Hotel prices for a cheap motel experience

To anyone who maybe be looking into this hotel because of price, if you can pay a fee more dollars for comfort and cleanliness.

Very outdated building. Mold in bathroom, shower curtain rod dangling from wall. Pullout couch is more like a pullout chair. The chair itself was heavily stained. The mattress in the pullout was also heavily stained. No carpet in room making the room echo. Dimly lit. Can go on… learned my lesson by saving a couple dollars.
