I loved the funky, fun decor. The host was super friendly and accommodating. He stocked the fridge and pantry for our comfort. Probably the best host I have stayed with.

We had fresh flowers for our arrival. Plenty of sleeping options. Quite neighborhood. Plenty of walking areas within the neighborhood for my dogs. Joey provides plenty of snacks & drinks& also arranged for a grocery delivery. Sweet fellow I was hoping for a standard back yard for my dogs, but I understand the time period of the home calls for more patio-like size back yards.

The location was nice- nice neighborhood and friendly people bathroom faucet was totally broken off, was quite dirty, hole in front door, most of the food was open containers and milk and juice were open and partially used by previous guests( don’t know if they drank from containers or reached onto cereal boxes with dirty hands), linen was stained. Could hear critters scratching in the walls. almost impossible to find a working plug in to charge our phones. Couldn’t find plug in for tv

The beds were very uncomfortable. Back issues due to the beds sinking in.

The pluming was not good or working

Nothing to like. Too disgusting to stay. The house has a very strong bad smell that’s a combination of moisture, old stuff, dust and probably mold. As soon as we entered the house we couldn’t stand it. On top, we saw stains in the pillowcase. All the bed sheet looked quite old and discoloured. The bathroom toilet, sink and floor also had stains. We didn’t even look at the shower. This house is not in conditions to receive people on vacations. It’s really disgusting. We decided to leave even knowing our reservation is non refundable. I requested a refund providing these details about our experience, but I didn’t receive any response from the owner.

I loved the location of Algiers Point! It was a very quiet a safe neighborhood. Quick walk to the ferry, which made access to the French Quarter simple. Self check-in was easy and convenient. The host informed us the next morning that the local Wal-mart could deliver. The features I found most useful were the washer/dryer and the kitchette. My group was able to wash the towels and our own clothes daily. I (we) were able to cook our own breakfast with some basics provided by the host (eggs, milk, butter, bacon, bread, basic seasonings, oil, and kitchenware). There was even coffee, soda, tea bags. The house had multiple beds that were perfect for a large group; however, my group was small. The decor was eclectic and cozy. The back patio had a few adorable ducks and a small pond, but we left them alone other than watching them through the back door in the mornings, listening to their quacking. Heating, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi were available and worked well. The hot water was PHENOMENAL. The public transportation available was fun to ride and extremely cost effective for a 7-day pass. Unfortunately, what I didn't like was the cleanliness. I don't think I have exorbitant expectations, but I was disappointed to find a random bra on the floor from a previous renter and crumbs on the stove. The sheets on one of the beds looked like they hadn't been washed, so we stripped the bed and found clean sheets in the bathroom linen closet. I couldnt find a vacuum for the rugs, but I was able to find and use a broom and dustpan for the wood floors. The bathroom didnt have an exhaust fan which made it steamy during showers. The TV didn't have volume when we tried to watch a DVD from his collection of movies. I couldnt figure it out and when I called the number provided there wasnt a response. This was very minor as TV wasn't a primary source of entertainment or need. The booking details for the location did state that extras would or could be available, but cost would be accepted in cash only. I made the mistake of assuming when the host asked us if we needed anything for the week that it was a surprisingly generous offer. I take responsibility for not asking more questions during that conversation to verify limitations, exceptions, expectations, or whether this was a service or a provided perk, because at the end of our stay (7 days/6 nights) the host asked for payment for the groceries, which was uncomfortable and awkward. It was apparent that the host would stop in and drop things off during the day when my group wasn't on site. It made us uncomfortable due to lack of communication about expectations or protocols - not to say the host wasn't friendly or kind in our limited conversations. When my group visited places beyond the neighborhood or the French Quarter a rental car or car service was necessary (i.e. swamp tour or plantation tour).

I really enjoyed the breakfast setup—Joey had the kitchen stocked with a generous variety of groceries, and the fridge was filled with free bottled water, wine, beer, and other drinks, which was a thoughtful touch. The location was perfect, just a scenic 5-minute walk to the Algiers ferry terminal, making it easy to explore the city while enjoying the peaceful charm of the neighborhood. Honestly, there wasn’t anything I didn’t like during my stay. Everything—from Joey’s hospitality to the location and amenities—exceeded my expectations. If I had to mention anything, maybe a longer stay would’ve made it even better!

3 minute walk to the mighty Mississippi River, Joey was an amazing host had a family of 5 originally booked because we had 7 for our trip and there was plenty of beds for everyone one. Tv/ dvd player weren’t able to be used at night they were missing the necessary hook up’s

It’s a large home that is in a most beautiful neighborhood within walking distance to the ferry over to the French Quarter. Joey, the owner, has ducks in the back yard and the inside is a wonderfully eclectic collection of New Orleans items. I highly recommend staying here!!

The house gave us a real New Orleans experience. It was close to the ferry for us to get into downtown New Orleans. Our host was very accommodating, he even let us check out late because our air boat tour was pushed back. The beds were very comfortable. The fridge was fully stocked upon arrival. The neighborhood felt very safe. We enjoyed our stay

Joey is a very hospitable and friendly host. I really loved the old charm feel of this historic house in a quiet neighborhood. I also liked that the ferry to go into New Orleans was just a 10 minute walk away.

Joey is a super host. Highly recommended. Friendly neighborhood. 5 minutes walk from ferry station: 10 minutes and you are in the historical downtown. Pet friendly. All is cool.

The owner is a great guy .He asked if there was anything that we needed and he provided us with breakfast foods and other drinks.Quiet neighborhood . We were without a shower for a couple of days . The owner was apologetic and had a plumber fix the problem . The house is old and these things happen . We were okay with it

Joey is amazing -- one of the best hosts we've ever encountered. He provided wonderful sundries for breakfast/brunch (and a little more for snacks and drinks) and genuinely wanted us to have a great stay. Hi place has some wear and tear but it's sooooo New Orleans and all the fun and funky decor he has everywhere just adds to the Creole flavor of the place. Could use a deeper cleaning -- and a few less beds. I think it slept 10+ with only one bathroom. Still, it was a super cool New Orleans experience and we would stay again!

Joey and Cleo are wonderful hosts! And we can't forget the ducks! The home was fully stocked with anything you may need. Our stay was so cozy which is very important with our kids (we have 6). The home is full of history. Great location. We will definitely be back. By far Joey has been the best host we've had the pleasure of having!
