Didn't ever get a receipt. Front desk stayed too busy. Basically a convention hotel with strip clubs across the street. Used to be a nice hotel. Now it just pretends to be.

A bunch of unexpected fees were quite upsetting

Property under construction. We thought we had a balcony view but no balcony.

Pool filter need to be changed. Pool water need to be stabilized.

Didn't have a great experience. Showered in cold water all weekend and bed sheets were stained. There was construction right outside my door due to hotel renovations.

Loved the pool and bar! Rooms were clean and well maintained.

Perfect!!! The bars and the jazz club associated with the hotel were amazing. And having a pool was great. Absolutely love this hotel!

A good location but hotel run down and they were doing very noisy construction and no notice to guests on the website or when we checked in. Pool was unusable due to noise during day and it closed at dusk. Shower didn’t always heat up. Business center was rundown too. Disappointed with our stay.

Alot of construction going g on....jackhammer going off around the pool area.

Due to the renovation they also seem to be trying to save money on housekeeping and trying to avoid daily service at all costs. We had to request service every day and one day three times in order to get new towels and items. When we first brought up the concerns to the Front Desk staff their recommendation was “well if you want you can just check out” which is not very hospitable. Their staff seem exhausted and overwhelmed due to high volume of complaints due to the renovation. We have stayed at the Royal Sonesta before and had a wonderful experience previously but this time it left a lot to be desired. If they had simply put a disclaimer on the website about the renovations, we may have considered alternative hotel options but they clearly didn’t advertise it, likely to avoid turning further business away while already losing tons of revenue due to low room capacity with the renovation.
