The Royal Sonesta New Orleans

Air conditioning was excellent

My wife and I visit Nola at least 4 times per year. We have always stayed at another hotel, but tried the Sonesta on a friend’s recommendation. This is our new home, and for many reasons. Valet parking was much easier and secure. I’ve had flat tires and car damage at the other establishment, but Sonesta has their own valets and not contracted to a third party. Location is ideal. We prefer the canal street end of Bourbon for the nightlife. The staff is amazing. Since Covid many establishments are having employee turnover, not at the Sonesta. Wilbur has been the bellman for 50 years, and he is just one example. The people are the main reason we love New Orleans, and the Sonesta is the best example of this

Loved this hotel. Very beautiful and clean. Needs a second pool. Way too many people for the size of the pool. If you don’t stay up until 3am don’t get a Bourbon St facing room! Very loud no matter what time of the year.

Everything was great here from the staff to the amenities. Prime location if you want to be in the French Quarter.

The staff was nice, the location was great. I would stay there again when back in New Orleans.

Staff was excellent, friendly, helpful and accommodating from the time we pulled in to park until we checked out. They helped with directions and restaurants The hotel needs some work furniture was a little worn in the lobby and the water pressure in the shower was very low but overall clean. The cleaning staff was excellent as well. The cafe inside the hotel was AWESOME the food was great and the daily complementary $15 helped out a lot with purchases. Overall, the hotel was good, we spent more time out of our rooms the inside.

Caleb at the door, Mr. Malcolm helping with you our luggage, Alexis at the pool, all the front desk staff, and house keepers were so welcoming and kind every single day. We had balcony access and easier access to the pool. We celebrated 2 birthdays so we were given complimentary champagne and pralines. Such an expected and sweet touch. We definitely plan to return and stay here again!

Pool was great, All the staff we encountered were a delight to deal with and helpful beyond our expectations. Will return again to this great establishment.

The hotel itself was ok. The gym was very nice, rooms were small. Just a bed and enough room to walk. You cannot place a suitcase on the floor and not trip over it. Bathroom is tiny, shower head is not suitable for an adult and the tub is small. Cleanliness, at most 8/10… found a pair of socks and chapstick from previous stay. Bathrooms in common areas were not well maintained; elevator floors were dirty. Booking through Expedia, you get a 130 tour credit, which is a total scam because it is divided towards several tours so you only get $25 per tour. Hotel gives you $15 a day to use; they didn’t keep good track of the expense and I ended up paying more out of pocket. I will not be staying here next time we visit New Orleans.

The hotel was in the best location. It was right on bourbon st. It was very close to some nice restaurants. Parked and didn't get vehicle till the day I left. Only had 1 issue. Other than that it was great.
