Great location (near Times Square, lots of broadway shows), clean, comfy beds and very quiet! This place is great!

Clean room, good location

This is a great place to stay. The rooms are large for NYC (we had a double queen), the location is great if you want to be towards the north near Times Square and Central Park and great restaurants in Hell's kitchen. The place was very clean and staff wonderful. The free breakfast was sufficient. The only issue we had was the AC unit ran constantly and blew directly on one of the queen beds, and if we wanted it not to blow, we had to turn it off. We were either too cold or too hot. But otherwise a great choice and would stay again.

Charming, well run property in excellent location!

The breakfast was a simple offering. Good selection of muffins, bagels, toast, etc. but definitely figure out buying your own protein to keep in your mini fridge and microwave to cook/heat, if you want more than a small yogurt or hard boiled eggs. There are several markets nearby. They have a minimal amount of dishes and silverware to use but our room didn’t have anything to clean it with. We had to use body wash and a washcloth. It worked but something to be aware of. We enjoyed Sicily Osteria down the street. Not the most amazing Italian in NYC but very good and their special lemon dessert was not only beautiful but yummy. We loved banana pudding, a specialty at Magnolia Bakery. It’s in Rockefeller Tower. Not far to walk to. To get to and from the hotel we walked from Penn Station and it wasn’t bad. Took about 20 minutes. With luggage it was a bit strenuous getting there but we figured out mid-trip that 9th Ave has a dedicated pedestrian walkway..so much easier than 4-wheeling and dodging people on the sidewalk! Broadway shows are all within easy walking distance. We saw Hadestown. It was SO good! I also enjoyed how we were centrally located on Manhattan. Loved it!

Great stay in great location. Cool hotel. Bar Lola is attached to the hotel and is very cool. Breakfast was good.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent for exploring New York City. It was within easy reach of Times Square and many of the major tourist attractions, making it very convenient for sightseeing. The breakfast was decent and a nice way to start the day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found the hotel to be a good choice for its convenient location and cleanliness. Charming style! Will come back

Best I have stayed in anywhere from the upgraded room gift, the helpfulness of front desk at all hours. The room was immaculate. . The amenities, just what I needed. Free water. Gorgeous shower with great wster pressure and even a built in chair. classical Music which I loved. Brautiful interiot Beautiful bed, slept well. And I stored my Luggage so could ho to a play unemcumbered. Will be booking again. And again Nice breakfast , coffee weak for my taste though.

The hotel has a charming boutique feel that immediately made us feel at home. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed next door to main check in, and the bathroom and shower were spotless. After long days and late nights enjoying the city, it was exactly the relaxing retreat we needed. The location is outstanding. Situated on a lively Manhattan street, we were surrounded by excellent restaurants, cozy lounges, and great bars, making it easy to enjoy New York before and after the concert. We also loved how close we were to Broadway, Times Square, and so many other attractions. Great continental breakfast croissants (meat and cheese options would likely be good additions). Rooftop had beautiful city views! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, adding to an already wonderful experience. Hotel Scherman helped make our anniversary weekend one to remember, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to New York. Highly recommended!

Wow! What a gem of a hotel. It’s located on Restaurant Row within walking distance of lots of NYC interest points-especially broadway theaters. We stayed in the “west” building and had a lovely room with 2queen beds. We were on the first floor in the back, so no view, but the room was really comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again.

Location was great for our weekend to the Broadway show but it also is not quiet on weekend nights so if you are a light sleeper, you may have trouble being in 1st floor Fri/Sat night. Sunday night was pretty quiet though. The options for complimentary breakfast were very minimal , muffins and toast and some fruit. No coffee creamer or milk alternatives that I saw but employees were friendly and the room was clean and , loved the restaurant atmosphere!

It was amazing. Great location in the theater district. Around 10 mins walk to Times Square and 3 different subway stations. Room was gorgeous, it had an old look but modernized. Not all rooms have elevator access but not an issue for us. Breakfast was great. Check-in guy very friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

This has to be one of the best if not the best hotel experiences that I’ve ever had. I’ve traveled all over the world and this place is amazing. The staff were great and very accommodating. The location is great for restaurants, Time Square and even walking 15-20 minutes to Penn Station or MSG. Subway locations are close by. The room was very nice and the bed was very nice and comfortable. We stayed in room 306 which had a nice view. The side we stayed in is accessible only by stairs but they do have an elevator for the other side. The breakfast was very good. The terrace on top of the hotel was very nice as well. I would highly recommend this property and I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to NYC!

We loved it. It doesn't feel like you're staying in a hotel. We had a key to the building and then used the keycards to get in the interior door. The room was really nice. The view is what you expect at the back of a hotel. The free breakfast was pretty good, and I loved the atmosphere of Bar Lola. The rooftop patio was a great space to hang out and never crowded. The location was ideal for us--about .8 miles from Moynihan and right next to the theaters / restaurants. The service was great -- they got our bags up to the room while we were checking in which was really helpful for me because I was traveling with my mom who just had surgery and my seven year old daughter. When we checked out, we just told them the bags were still in the room, and they brought them down and had them waiting for us when we returned from sightseeing and were on our way back to Moynihan. We will definitely stay again.

This is our second time staying at the Sherman Hotel and it was as great as the last time. We had the delightful two bedroom suite with a balcony and couldn’t have been happier. It was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities you could wish for. The restaurants nearby were first class and it was a huge plus to be able to walk to Time Square and yet feel enjoy relaxed ambiance of the Scherman.

I love this neighborhood gem of a NYC hotel! We have now stayed twice at the Hotel Scherman and it is our new ifavorite spot for staying relatively near most Broadway theaters. We have stayed in a BEAUTIFUL room with the most awesome balcony overlooking Restaurant Row on W 46th St. With two spacious bedrooms and 2 large bathrooms plus a fridge and a plush living room. I cannot say enough about this hotel. They also offer a complimentary breakfast next door in the a.m. Do not hesitate to get a room here. The check in area is kind of tiny and narrow but do not let that fool you. Their staff is friendly and accomodating as well. Thanks again!

all good including continental breakfast except our TV stopped working in the middle of a World Cup game around 10:30pm and never came back, not even the next morning.
