The premium room at the Barclay was quiet, clean, comfortable, and a home away from home for a week-long stay.

Very nice, historic hotel. Good blend of newer conveniences, technology and touches with the classic charms of an older NY luxury hotel. The property was very clean. Nice location, still within walking or short driving distance of many locations. The staff was very helpful and nice. Really enjoyed the bar and bar staff was great. It was nice to be away from Times Square given the more peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Also, much closer to 5th Avenue for shopping. The rooms and bathroom was nice, but a little on the small side. Not terrible, but a little tight. The mattresses were not as comfortable as I would expect for a hotel of that level.

Staff said booking was unpaid yet I showed booking.com payment receipt. Charged me for room any how. So I currently have 3x the room charge outstanding on my card

Never stayed in a 5 star hotel before that does not provide drinking water. When we spoke to them two days later about the water they gave us a bottle each which was nice but I've stayed at many InterContinentals and this did not meet the standards of the others I have previously stayed at. Rooms are VERY small, our phone didn't work to call reception. We also arrived really late and the man who checked us in was very miserable.

Instead of taking accountability or trying to help, they blamed Expedia, stating that Expedia "lied" and that a Classic Room is simply "whatever is available" with no bed guarantee. I even showed the receptionist my booking confirmation proving the error was not on my end, but they remained entirely indifferent. To make matters worse, the hotel had open rooms available to remedy the situation, but they chose to do nothing. As a result, I slept terribly throughout my stay. For a hotel that markets itself as a premium luxury property, the customer service here is incredibly deficient and entirely subpar. If you want a hotel that values your comfort and honors what you paid for, I suggest booking elsewhere.

Everything was so clean and the location was perfect to be within walking distance of Rockefeller center, Times Square, the pier, upper east side, 5th ave shops and more. Hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
