The Local - Hostel

Terrific staff, very clean, a well stocked kitchen with 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers, lots of tools for cooking. There is had a bar with pastries snacks, tea, coffee & wine. They have events most nights, music, comedy, etc. Melin one stop to Court square from Manhattan, easy Lots of fast food very close.. Some of the mattresses could be newer and softer.

1st time staying, clean, cute little spot, private shower and bathroom in room. I chose 4bed female room. Locker to lock your belonging, bring lock if you come late, cute little coffee shop for breakfast. Close to subway, work space, hang out spot, NO ELEVATOR, rooms on second floor walk up stairs so if you have lots of luggage it will be hard. But it was an amazing area and experience No issue

The hostel was absolutely amazing in terms of value for money. It was very close to the city center, and getting around was really easy thanks to the convenient transportation options. I was especially happy that they had laundry facilities, which was something I didn’t find at most of the other hostels I stayed at. The hostel was very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always willing to answer any questions. I also really appreciated that they stayed in touch and were responsive even when communicating remotely. Overall, I was very happy during my stay and had a great experience. Thank you so much, The Local NY! Although I really appreciated having laundry facilities, I think they could be improved. Since many guests need to do laundry, having only two washing machines and one dryer is not enough. The bathroom was also quite small, which made it a little uncomfortable to use. However, it was clear that this was due to the structure and limitations of the building, so I understand that there probably isn’t much that can be done about it.

Everything!!! The people, facility, cleanliness, and overall experience! It was my first time in nyc and solo traveling, and I was a bit worried at first but the Local NY definitely left a place in my heart and would love to come back again. Thank you so much for everything!

It’s clean, the staff is friendly, the location is not too far from a subway station, and comfy pillow. The bathroom in the ladies' dorm is not convenient- it’s cramped. The bed is firm, need to be replaced with the new one (room 228 bunk no.4). The price has jacked up due to the long weekend but it’s way too expensive for a dorm.

It was my first stay in a Hostel, so I expected it to not be so quiet and clean. I thought I'd be annoyed by roommates making noise, turning lights on, etc. But it wasn't like that.
