The Shoreham

I have stayed in many hotels around the world, and unfortunately, this is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The room was disgusting. The carpet was extremely dirty, there were cockroaches, and there was a terrible smell throughout the room. The bathroom was also unacceptable. There is only a shower, with no proper way for a woman to wash her intimate area comfortably and hygienically. On top of everything, the service was extremely poor and there was nothing about this hotel that justified the price. This was a terrible experience from beginning to end. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. Definitely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. What made the experience even worse is that we were told that the hotel offers breakfast, but there is actually NO breakfast at this hotel at all. We were also told that the hotel has a sauna, but there is NO sauna either. In other words, we were given misleading information about the facilities before booking. The service was poor, the room was unacceptable, and overall this hotel was a huge disappointment. The only positive thing about this hotel is its location. I strongly recommend that travelers carefully check what facilities actually exist before booking. For us, this was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.

I liked that it’s closed to everywhere… awesome location. The bathroom is great. The rooms are ok, solid. It’s true that the rugs are old and they produce bad smell… but it’s a solid place to stay. Too expensive for what they offer… Not even breakfast…

Staff generally pleasant, but not flexible re: combining two serparate reservations. Rooms a little tired, but ok. Elevators and common areas quite satisfactory. Good value for money

Wouldn’t stay there with my family but worked well for business travel.

Location It’s a total dump. Room is old, shabby, carpet is filthy, no base molding. Bathtub chipping. Dirty headboards. No coffee maker.

Location is good, and the room is quite big, more than what you can get in NYC Internet was really bad, so if you have to work.. no way to do it. The bath is tiny!

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the location. Otherwise it wasn’t great. Very dated, grubby. The carpets needed cleaning the walls were scuffed up, the shower heads had mold on them and the bathroom fixtures were old. Over rated and over priced.

Room was very dirty. The carpet especially was pretty gross. Faint odor in my room.

a minute ago Nuova I am giving this hotel a 1/10 rating because I paid €700 for three nights, including one night during which I was unable to sleep because of the rain dripping onto the air-conditioning unit. We were staying here for our honeymoon, so we were particularly disappointed. During one night of heavy rain, water was constantly dripping onto the air-conditioning unit, creating an extremely loud noise throughout the night. I still have a video documenting the situation. I went downstairs and spoke directly to the manager, who told me to contact Booking.com and file a complaint. I was told that the hotel would provide a €50 refund for that night, supposedly corresponding to the hotel taxes/fees. Unfortunately, I later received a response from Booking.com informing me that the hotel had refused the refund. For €700 for three nights, I find this completely unacceptable, especially considering that the issue made it impossible to sleep during one of the nights of our honeymoon. The way the situation was handled afterwards was also extremely disappointing. Room number 319 ,17-20 September 2026

To start, when you first come in the lobby area there are a bunch of weird odd looking men as if they were just hanging out and people sleeping in the lobby area. The room is nothing as they show on the pictures, there is a full size wall mirror in the shower, carpet is stained and dirty, toiletries are not replenished accordingly and there is an empty closet in the middle of the room all broken and exposed outlet. Unfortunately, NY was fully booked in other hotels unable to cancel stay. On our third day (Sunday) of staying in the hotel, they decided to charge a $573.76 smoking fee that was detected by their smoke detector on the arrival date (Friday) at 3:33pm Due to delays and we checked in at 6:33pm. We had to provide our uber receipt of arrival time and provide a form explaining that we do not smoke. They said charges will be refunded with proof of receipt of refund since they agreed that the accusations were false. At the end they ended charging the fee and now we are having to deal with a new headache due to their SCAM! Please be careful, it is better to pay a bit more elsewhere than get scammed by The Shoreham Hotel Management in NY

Our stay at the shoreham was fine. The room was on the smaller side, with a smaller washroom. The room was clean, just some old stains on the carpet. There weren't any complementary bottles of water but they did have a water dispenser. There weren't any cutlery etc. Or any fridge or microwave in the room.

The location was great Asked for a roll away bed for my child and was told that i would be upgraded for free instead. Neither of those happened. No coffee in room and no ice bucket.

Locations and comfy beds. Property isn’t keep up well minimal low quality furniture in the suite and carpet was very old/dirty.

It desperately needs an update. The room was on the shabby side, the carpet was awful, and the walls need a re-paint. The bathroom was tiny, and the door needed to be closed before one could even sit down. The bedsheets and towels were clean, the TV was fine. If you just need a (rather depressing) room for one night in Midtown, it will do, at a price. The little "coffee shop" in the lobby was okay and it was good to get reasonable coffee there to start the day. Apart from the shabbiness of the room, however, the worst thing about this particular room was the awful smell of smoke - despite it having a no smoking and no vaping sign, it is clear a previous occupant had smoked there. I couldn't change rooms because I was running straight from check in and dropping off my bags to a business event. The smell clung to my luggage even after I arrived home.

upgraded to penthouse so plenty of room - much appreciated would have loved a kettle in the room.
